View Full Version : Vehicle bug

I have just recently gotten a quad and have only one character able to drive it. Everytime I spawn it and try drive away, I run into the edge of the zone, if I get off, I warp back to where I first got on it and the quad reappears in front of me. The only fix I have heard of so far is to spawn the vehicle, zone somewhere on foot, zone back, and then try to drive the quad to another zone, sometimes it works, sometimes not.
I used to drive vehicles a lot a few months ago and never had this problem before. Is this from a recent patch? Or has it been around for a long time? Does anyone else have this problem? I only heard of 1 or 2 others who have the same problem so far. Anyone know of any fixes? I'm thinking I may just download the full evo 2.1 install and reinstall that, but im lazy and procrastinate a lot. Guess it would help to submit a bug report ingame too, I'll do that next.

If it helps, heres my comp and connection setup, maybe theres some similarities to others having this problem. (yes, I know I need to get a new video card, sent me $100 and I will) Ask for more info.

Yep I have the same problem - zoning by foot is the only way around it.

This has happened more times than I care to count with vehicles.

Relogging has no effect either.

i know people who got this too.
he said it worked ok if you sit on the vehicle, relog then despawn then respawn the vehicle.
doesnt always work but it did for him once or twice.
hope it helps..

There are two permanent fixes for this:

- Use DirectX 7 mode
- Remove Service Pack 2

I had this problem (http://neocron.jafc.de/showpost.php?p=1920788&postcount=12) in the past. The solution that I chose was to remove Service Pack 2 as my gaming box is only used for gaming.

Guess Evo 2.1 didn't fix the problem...

You're link points to something completely different? :-p

Anyway, I never had this problem before in the past! (On second thought, that "past" was NC1!)

And the only solution which is possible for me is the former, and my card is one that copes perfectly well with DX9 - so I don't want to have to use it and lose out lots of graphical niceness!

Do you have VSync enabled in your videocard settings?

Some drivers also have a choice for VSync labeled 'application preference' which in NC2's case seems to be 'off'.

Forcing VSync on cured this problem with a friend's machine who had the same problem with NC.

My v-sync was already on due to the character rubber-banding-while-zoning issue.

v-sync fixes extended char rubber-banding, but doesn't fix all vehicle spawn rubber-banding.
