Hi,

Anyone else having issues with actually logging into game? I get presented with the username/password/save password box, enter correctly my information, click Enter(or Resume, neither seems to do anything), the screen changes to 'Connecting to Server', occassionally moves onto 'Retrieving server info', maybe once in while I get presented with my character selection.... and, if I'm really lucky, maybe once in a blue moon, I can actually connect.

When I say it occassionally moves onto the next process, if it does not, it boots me back to the login screen again with no error messages what so ever! Hell sometimes it just goes from login screen... 'enter' ... black screen... login box again.

This is becomming extremely frustrating as I know that when I want to play, it's going to take me about 30mins.... an hour ... etc just to connect!! and quite frankly rediculous.

I have uninstalled and completed removed Neocron 2 off of my machine, I have got all the up-to-date Windows Updates(Including SP2) Then reinstalled Neocron 2 straight from the NC2.1 full download, and from original NC2 and just using the update patch.

Can anyone else suggest anything or speak up if anyone else is have the same or similar problems?

Bad connection or the characters got fucked during one of the patches.

Get a GM to log in as you if you can.

I know the characters are fine though, as on the rare occassion I can get in-game, or even to the character selection screen, it is fine.

As for a bad connection, it would be a new one on me, as I know I live quite close to the phone exchange, and have never had any issues before(nor currently to anything else either)

If a GM reads this, I dont mind them checking my account, you are more than welcome to do so. Just let me know! :D

check your errorlog, clientliblog and initlog.. see if you can find entries that point to a connection issue (e.g. an angry socketmgr "connection failed")

After, you found the bugger (which I bet you will) check your firewall and router... find out whatever blocks your client.exe or port 8020 and fix it.

done

if its not a connection issue, you're doomed! :)

Run that for a while. It'll let you know how many packets your losing over a time frame.

hmmm well I seemed to have done nothing and the problem has gone....

I looked into the various log files, didnt reaally mean a lot to me, but either way... it appears to have resolved itself quite satisfactory(Very likely line issues with BT in my area or something of that nature lol)

Can you elaborate as to what this program tells you? I've set host at www.google.com... And it has my GaTech internet provider at loss 56%. Does this mean it's on my comp's side, router side, or uni server side?

Thanks.

It's just a combined ping/traceroute with a history.

It will give you timings and levels of packetloss at each hop along the route from your PC to your target.

Once you know *where* along the route the problem lies you have a much better chance of finding the appropriate entity to ask to fix it.

However ... be aware that some providers/routers drop, or at least don't prioritise in times of high load, this sort of measurement data as a matter of deliberate policy, so the results may still need some degree of interpretation.

If in doubt stick your results here and I'll be happy to have a look.

OOOH bably. Check out them drops. I'm loving it

So I can safely assume that since I only got 1% drop from the router (192.168.0.1), and 46% drop, the fact that I keep getting DCed from IRC and the such is because of my Uni's gateway? Thanks.

hmmmm

[EDIT]

Well that IP has taken me towards Google English... which is kinda worring lol.

Odin or someone else, could someone either post or PM me the IP of the login server for Neocron so that I can run the program on that IP please, as that is where I appear to be having the trouble. The IP in the launcher I'm guessing is not it, and if it were, then I have no problems with that as per the results on the first read out.

Thanks,

any further ideas that I can try btw? As the problem is not getting any better by itself :(
