View Full Version : How far can you see?

Riddle

The distance I can see in wastelands is extremely limited, iirc in NC1 i could see way off in the distance.

Now i am surrounded by this shite white fog with WB's appearing out of the fog instantly, i have not used my sniper in an age because i can't see anything at a distance

No i don't have force fog on....yes i have tried DX7.....Yes i have tried Gamma settings

The expanse of a zone is no longer felt because of the permanent white bubble that surrounds me :(

So why is this? am i the only one? and what the hell is going to be done about it?

I use the 9800 Pro

I don't have the problem so nothing needs to be done about it.

j/k :p altho you should note that the closer you are to the zoneline the smaller the bubble around you

This can vary wildly for from zone to zone and also with the weather effects going on at the time.

Yep, there's a misty weather effect that rolls in from time to time that severely restricts visibility.

I rember testing this in early NC2... Me and one of my friends had the exact same computers and same video drivers and he could see proly 25% further then me in DX9 with force fog off... So I don't know what causes this :(. I do think that if you have fog distance off you should be able to see 60% furhter then you can now normaly. And with fog on if the slider thing is all the way on then it will be the same as not having fog distance on at all, but it goes down slowly so that you can ajust it better.

That's the point i don't log me sniper because he has to be practically standing next to you before i can see!

And there's still that weird little extra 15m after that where you can see the enemy but not target them.
