If it stuck to the orginal story line and added a serious actor it could be good.
The whole FPS perspective is just dum. If you want FPS, you play the game. When you see a movie, you go to see more than a gun for 90 minutes.
yeah no politics.. i live in california.. dont even get me started on him :rolleyes: as they say; only good part he cant make any movies while hes gov ;)
movie probably will suck, i think they think; why waste time/money on a good script and actors when it will make a ton just for being called "Doom". same for all the other video game movies.

Heh. IF done properly, a Deus Ex movie would be incredible. THe phiosophy, the badass cyberpunks setting, the nifty set-pieces. THe theme music. Vote Keanu for JC, as they both ahve alll the personality of a plank of wood. THe reality is that they'd remove alll the philosophy, simplify the conspiracies and make it all set pieces... Also, who do you think they would make JC's Love interest? Sandra Renton? Nicolette? Anna Navarra?!

die hard wasn't a bad game/movie, though the movie was out before the game i know;p
and im talking about die hard 2 on the die hard trilogy disk for ps1.
punisher movie is wank but the game is nice.
metal gear movie was before the game also... that escape from LA?? new york??? cant remeber which.

The problem with video game to movie adaptations is that the game studios more or less just sell out the name. Studios plop down big bucks and wipe their ass on a piece of paper and call it a script. Then they do the same things with the acting, directing, etc etc....
Im not a big MS fan, but in regards Halo movie coming out, theyve been suprising. Instead of just selling out the Halo name so any schmuck can use duct tape and super glue to put it together, they actually had a clause in the contract saying that Bungie would have a LARGE part in the creative and movie making process. That in and of itself is unheard of. Whether you like Halo or despise it, you have to admit, from that fact alone, Halo could possibly be one of the better game adaptations ever made.

Undoubtedly. A Deus Ex movie would be awesome......if done right, which is asking a WHOLE lot for modern move making. John Travolta, in Swordfish, got it right:

Doom the movie is a perfect example thereof. (or i assume it will be and if it's not.... the whole world might just explode.)
