Hi folks,

my trusty old nivida 5950 Card is broken. Whats a good card to buy (that will work with NC2, too).

Using Shuttle mainboard and chassis, 3.2gig cpu, 1 gig ram atm.

a lil shuttle pc ? omg :p

you might have a problem with the top end cards then they are frigging huge you should go to the store and ask if you can fit them.. depening on what you want for gfx / price i say get a 6600 gt or a 6800 gt ( the one i got )

the one i was using till now has a cooling thingy on each side of the card and used an additional powerconnector. was fitting exactly to the free space. are the new cards even bigger then that?

6600/6800 is that ati/nvidia or what? could you post a rough estimate for fps during gameplay?

Budget !!!

It really helps to set out a budget before you say 'what should i buy' :)

a 7800GT is a cracking good buy at the moment, i've seen them going for about £260.

If you dont mind a refurbished card, you could always buy somthing from here. (http://shop.ati.com/searchresults.asp?dept_id=39) Im guessing he is on agp.

Gah they used to have XT's for like 30$ more.

Dual 7800GTX's in SLI.

Oh, wait, sorry you've not got money coming out of your ass. :p

Go for something in the 6600 line if you're on a budget, and maybe a 9800 if you're on a tight budget.

If he's going the ATI route like the 9800s, I'd recommend going with the refurbed X800's Terayon posted. The lower end 9800s aren't as able as the high end XT's and when you go for the XT's, the price isn't that far away to the X800s. But don't get the SE X800s. They may be powerful but they suffer from being SE (Shit Edition).
