View Full Version : how do i manualy download patches
can someone tell me if there is a way to download the patches manualy instead of using the autoupdater
Why? In NC1 used to be quicker to do that but i think they changed it in NC2 and no real difference now.
Not sure now as i use the updater.

try:
ftp://ftp.neocron.com/nc2retail/
there you find all patches.
Download them into your NC2\patches\
that should do.
yours
the auto updater says no connection to the ftp server available and it says page cannot be displayed when i try that link

Works fine with me.
Maybe your firewall prevents access to ftp-pages?
Try switching your FW off and try again. Should do than.

weird, seems like something like youre firewall is indeed blocking you
by head if you use internet explorer you can also go to the options -> advanced -> surfing (apology for free translation) -> turn on mapview for FTP ... mark it with an X
dunno, gotta try everything otherwise maybe you have a router with build in firewall ? or certain ports blocked ?
could u check what it says next to FTPSERVER=ftp in your ini updater file

Sorry, but both works fine with me.
Maybe it depends on your (Internet-) connection settings?

Works fine for me as well. :^)
Works for me too.
Just to double check, look at updater.ini in your Neocron\ini folder.
Does it look like this:
SERVERIP=62.140.29.50
PORT=8020
PATCHPREFIX=patches\cp
EXE=Client.exe
GAMESERVERIP=62.140.29.50
HOMEURL=http://launcher.neocron.com/
FTPSERVER=ftp.neocron.com
TESTPATCHDIR=/nc2testserver
RETAILPATCHDIR=/nc2retail
ISRETAILVERSION=1
USELOCALPORT=0
LOCALPORT=21063

if he can't manually find the ftp site then it's not likely to be a game related issue.
windows has a crappy firewall which is on by default (certainly after updating windows, maybe before). awful thing. msconfig / admin tools > services and disable that.
if all your firewalls are disabled and it still doesnt work... the only really obvious thing left is your actual connection. a limit put on it by the ISP or some such.
