I appreciate that NC1 is NOT anywhere near the top of the list for the GM's, coders etc, but could anyone possibly answer this, Is the NC1 Uranus server going to be back online ?

Maybe it's getting a patch? With the sudden influx of Pandore players there's been a lot more interest, and we can always dream. Also remember that quite a few players there don't play NC2, so won't be able to post in this area.
Anyway, anxiously awaiting the return of Uranus, purely for the pleasure of having warbot titans spawn on me and using my still smoking remains as a footrest!

As you can still see boxes of NC1 in shops, it is more than likely that the server will be back online.
Need to find a download link for PC launcher pro as well.
i reckon they took it down or something because of the way it was building up slowly but surely.
if it stays down that will be one heck of a spitefull move nc1 > nc2
Any news on the status, just started playing nc1 yesterday and then the server goes down.. boooo. Btw liking nc1 way more than nc2. Thank god for them safe zones in plaza and stuff so u can go do your lvling and stuff normally without some gay sniper shooting u from a spot u cant see.. think this is what killed nc2 for me. Anyway, in the short time i played nc1 ive seen more people in p1, p2 then ive seen in nc2 at the time i left and at a buddies house (wich was 0 people in p1,p2..).
Anyway bring the frigging server up if anyone's awake at KK... thank u.
Previous to this Uranus has been down a couple times for more than a week since its old and knackered it fucks up more, some hardware had to actualy be replaced last time so my guess is that its broken again and due to it being one of KKs lowest prioritys as its only online to keep within a contract (presumably with CDV) it might take a while to get back on its feet, as for a patch, the likly hood of that is probably less than 1% since Neocron 1 was discontinued over a year ago :p

Surprisingly, some people also ... umm... pay.. for Neocron 1. And somehow, NC2 just doesn't have the same gritty feel to it as NC1 does. Too many other games with the same red vs blue feel to them, though admittedly NC does it better. It's far more fun taking a run into Plaza 1 to visit the Medicare centre as a Crahn monk in NC1 than to be ally killed in the city in NC2.
And I'm still hoping it's down so that they'll put back the Crahn glove as the Crahn epic item. What do PSI monks want with a stupid DoY gun? To use it as a magic wand??? (Well.. the glove and the remote repair tool would be good!).

I doubt its gonna get patched and its a sunday so the chances are pretty damn thin.
I agree on the whole RvB system and its a bit shite i hope that now the dome government is out of the picture aliances within the dome and neocron will grow thin and that some of the old relations may return due to this and business proposals from factions.

It's confusing when people that are green to you helps people that are red to you take your op, etc, etc, etc.

Loved the old faction system was way better.

Someone was playing on Uranus saying their characters were still there. However, I'm not sure they could actually use them. I think they were going to delete the NC1 versions and make new characters. I guess you won't know till you try.

All you copied over was info from the "DB Photo" it took at the end of nc1 retail, Uranus is basically as it was when nc2 started, everything is there as you left you it, gogus, apts, rares everything if ur a uranus player.
Bah still down, wonder how long until we get a official word :P

FFS, Lupus was here earlier, surely he would know something (or he could ring KK HQ).
I think Uranus only still exists due to some contractual obligations with CDV(what a great deal of good they did for NC hey...), so umm...be grateful that kk do put any effort at all into it as I'm sure, had it been their choice, it would've gone down with all the other nc1 servers...
It's being looked into by the tech support guys - no word on when it will be back up as yet.

So not far of the average population of Terra 2 months ago... when you where lucky to see it over 12% at peak times...
If my crappy Audigy 2 wasn't being a git and not working properly and not allowing driver updates and hard locking my computer...
i'd be on NC1 messing about... much more fun than NC2!

Well.....I got in an argument with some players about the hackers, these honest non-cheating players said they were paying to play still, I said why pay for a game when people are getting trial accounts for free and hacking.....they got pissed and said it was their choice.
I say send a GM in once or twice and boot those hackers with the odd combat ranks, pretty sad when I cant kill a level 30 hybrid with a capped TC pistol PE.
I love uranus, but the hackers are making me wish KK would shut the server down for good.....I'm sure it's possible, EA shut down motor city online while the game was still in the bargain bins.(they offered a free sims online game instead) :rolleyes:

pandore didnt deserve to last bceause of only 60 people at peak (note all paying subscribers), but uranus is sticking around because of 20 people who are playing for free...

How hard can it be for KK to do ONE BLOODY databasequery and pull out all the 255 255 255 people and ban those accounts?
It's the least they can do. There's some people there who bought an nc1 box on ebay or in a store somewhere, all possible NC2 players once the nc1 server goes down, but not if they see nc1 full of hacking players.

well there is defiantly exploiters, money means nothing as everyone is exploiting that, and also the wpe hacks means that people are 57/17 ** and able to use holy shelters, tbh I would like KK to lock it down and charge for it, and give basic support, I would pay.
Why not post here if you would be willing to pay around £5 ($10) a month to use Uranus, as long as KK were to appoint either dedicated GMs for the server, or other GMs that come and "check" on the server from time to time.

lol, lvl xx/17 cant use holy shelters, their PSI lvl is like 30-40 max.. u still need the psi lvl req for the spells.
the high rank just means loads of PPW, plus a combo of APU/PPU (and u cap the APU and the PPU spells, therefore the rank is even higher)

id like to see how many of them actually DO pay for it. i was actually being sarcastic since most of the time i see on this posts the other people who only ever played nc1 and deny any flaws in it, i know there is people exploiting quite a bit.

I guess tis a good thing that server has finally been shut down for non paying customers. The rumours are true; without GM presence, Uranus has become a lawless, dystopian cheaters paradise. I'd like it to be shut completely and turned into a Test Server, but theres contractual obligations to the doomed souls that have bought Bargain Bin copies of NC1. :p

The people on nc1 didnt bother you on nc2 did they? so far there hasnt been anything official happenin what so ever with nc1 all people wanted was a croppin of exploiters.
As outdated as it some still found it far better half of my old proto pharma clan from uranus came back to play and have some fun or have a look around kill a a few people and the like and a lot planned to play for a bit and have some op wars with the other few clans that was building up there.
A-lot of people just plain dont like nc2 so why shouldnt they have the option to go play nc1 its a minor un noticed server all need is to get one voluntry gm they can trust to start scren grabbin exploiters and givin the details in so they can be banned.
Hmm...checked all my 3 accounts, and they have expired. If I was to play and pay for NC1, I would want to move my Pluto chars to Uranus.

im not sure of NC1 but nc2 TOS says " REAKKTOR.COM retains the right to discontinue Neocron any time. Claims for continuation of the product are non existant.". nc1 tos must have said something to that effect.
i understand some people have fun on it, but i havent looked im guessing that HUGE peak of 20 people has probably gone down considerably now that you cant play free.

I have had subcriptions to atleast 3 mmo's that has been shut down abruptly and there was no suits etc....there are ways around everything.

They want to close down Uranus as soon as possible obviously. They are loosing money by running Uranus, there will never be enough paying customers to make it worthwhile.

i can imagine that the "close nc1 account registration" is part of the publishing contract, as there are two different publishers (old = CDV, new = 10T's partners) involved here.
As a new publisher i would not like "the old" draining the customers.
