Good to see it's still around. I would probably still be playing if it wasn't for that dreaded NC2...
Ah well, Jumpgate is still around so who knows....
I'd prolly still be playing too if it wasn't for the fact a) I'd done most of what could be (a couple of years ago) and b) I had some money to play MMORPGs atm :)

I can, but then I need to sign up on paynova.com (E-wallet), which is linked to my debit card here in sweden, but to be able to pay paybycash with it, I need to convert the currency from SEK to Dollars/Euro in a very bizzarre way trough Paynova, in other words, to much hassle which I really don't need atm.

My first post in a verrrrry long time. I have played ff11 and WoW since I left Neocron, and I still miss the hell out of it. It is a very special game. I still have the Beta 4 installed in my hard drive.
I've renamed this thread - anyone who knows anything about Neurolinguistic Programming will know that the old title sucked. ;)

Hey at least you kids have custom avatars Fatesender and his ilk would have none of that in the old forums. There where two clans in the old days the Corperation and that one run by Pixie and Nima. Before coming here I checked N/O just to discover that it is no more and #neocron is it's only it's only remaining element. It's weird without Lungfish, Nimia or Eltanin amoung others.
It was "The Company". ;) There was also Danae's "Genesis Project".

And SOL with Solid_Snake until he got banned. None of thease realy survived to release anyways.(A lot mof the old community members didn't last until realease either). Danae started posting Feb 2001 and some became a mod at #neocron and soon after a KK employee. Weird how minterest in a game can lead to a job.

Hah! I've been thinkin about posting here again, just to check how it's all going. Actually, I thought this would all be long dead by now, but as it's still going it has given me a humongus urge to get some more of that bloody "neocrack" inside of me.
I still haven't played Neocron 2 yet, has it changed much? I think I must've left towards the end of 2003, I had a plan to come back last year, but nothing ever came of that. If only it could go back to the days of Beta 4 when nobody cared, had some great times. When retail version came along I still played like a total newbie, but most of the other players else got all serious and it went a bit cack.
Good to see all those old names from the forums years ago, even though I never really interacted with any of yer.
Y'know, when I finally get broadband towards the end of this year, I seriously think I will come back, even if it's just a 10 day trial thing.

I started on Saturn around May 2003 (started on pluto in Jan), so I guess I'm not all that much of a vet though I had chars in some of the big clans back then (pro/nd)
I left during ND's reign. Hated being treated like cannon fodder. Later joined Omnituens and Dissenter in Disciples of Crahn, or something of that sort, trying to relive the glory days of MoJ versus NAT. :)

theres sumin about nc that other games dont have, alot of ppl whos names we saw frequenly back in 2002 we still see today, just not as frequently, they drop in from time to time, you can tell the there still having neocrack flashbacks, the game is well, remarkably adictive realy

There are people on #neocron that stopped playing the game ages ago and are still here. To tell the truth the commuinity was closer before the realease of public beta KK employee's would stop on by #neocron just for a chat and we would flame each other on the F*ck You Wanker forums on N/O.
Long time no see...
I ordered two copies of NC2 DoY today for my brother and me to play at the same time. Hard to believe that it's been so long and I still never forgot about NC or how it felt walking those streets for the first time (back in beta 2.0, then 3.0 and lastly in the retail).
But "unfortunately" I'm going on a two week vacation in a couple of days, so it'd be a waste to register my new account(s) when I get them tommorow.
Anybody interested in re-introducing a long lost citizen and dedicated roleplayer when I get back into the action a few weeks from now?
I just had to copy/paste into my sig what I first saw when I logged into my forum-account.

We had actualy been playing Eve for a while and Ataxia even lent us some money to get BS. I managed to make the money to pay her back and got a good amount of change for my self but eventualy not enough of our corp was playing so i got bored.
So here i am : ) im working on getting my old chars back and Bib plans to do same possibly. School just started for him so he has been a bit busy.

You can get the client online now, and activate through click2pay or paybycash. And you've gotta email KK about getting your characters transfered.
You can also by the boxed game in Europe. Though not anywhere else.

If you didnt delete them, they're still there.

Althought iirc the official line is 3 months I think they have never deleted any so best to email support with your original details and they will let you know.
However if they are still offering a transfer from NC1 to 2 it will be from the snapshot in September last year when the rest of us moved. so the imps you had in, armour you had on and the items in your quickbelt at that time are moved with you. Everything else i.e gogo, appys, keys, epics including brain chips were wiped.

Yeah, and before the netcode made them unplayable. That was back in the days when people didn't spec poison much.
I shouldn't of read this thread. Now I have an urge to start playing again :(

Neocron died for me when SHIELD died on Saturn. But then was reborn when I joined BlooD. But then suddenly everything slowed down to a halt, and so I quit... for the third time O_o

I'm in WoW alot now, although to be honest after overdosing on Alliance, i'm getting pretty sick of it by now.
I do miss Neocron, but i remember the "golden" days when the servers were pretty full, people were cool, and Pepper Park belonged to US! (erm Tsunami).
Hows the server pop like? If Blizzard keep putting me up for naming violations (I mean what's wrong with "Paranoia", on a fantasy RP server?), i'll probably return.
Did they ever fix hacknet/flying vehicles?

I wouldn't say HN is "better", with the range and damage nerf to the players, yet mobs still have their ridiculus amount of health, it's basically impossible to level in there now. Not to mention ppu buffed players/pure hacknet spies are practically unkillable.

Only nid and someone with a realy good memory know who i am now.
Wee im a vet visiting....had like...a tank and a rifle PE....names were xeon santos and xeon sonmas....usta be in IC...knew alot of the members of templars....i remember when the black cartel owned basicly evey outpost and owned eveything...remember before NC2 peopel were haveing free giveaways at plaza 1 and 2....i kinda miss NC =/.....like i had oh so much fun getting my minion snake teeth...yah...just GETTING to El Fraid was odd...me driveing my 4x4 as fast as it would go gettign shot at by 100000 DOY def bots and killing the damn jonny 5's by hideing in a lil hut!....spent most of my low levels behind the pipes in the sewers owning aggrssors...last few things i remember is ownign chaos caves outside of CRP then my comp died and my account rotted....and its a bit too late to get em back...im THINKING about getting NC2 and reliving some of those moments

pretty much all of NAT/ND players are gone. divide is playing WoW and the only way he'll come back is if someone can convince KK to unban his account, give his characters and items back and say that they banned him for a stupid reason....Beast might be making a comeback soon now that his new computer is back up. Peepers i think i still playing WoW but not sure since my WoW account died....pretty much everyone else, ste, mag, phobos, zone, Stig, Ch0, and basically everyone is gone.
we had a small reunion deal going on on zoneseek's forums but those died. before the forums died it seemed as if some people wouldn't mind making a comeback but i dont see it happening in the near future.
you can try posting on http://clan.getsomeskills.com/ and see if you get a response but good luck with that since those forums are dead as well.

theres sumin about nc that other games dont have, alot of ppl whos names we saw frequenly back in 2002 we still see today, just not as frequently, they drop in from time to time, you can tell the there still having neocrack flashbacks, the game is well, remarkably adictive realy

I didn't get retail right away . . and a friend of mine went on to bring E.O.B. to retail . . .by the time I got in . .which was about april .. most people had left . ..lol. And the sync was horrid ;). Ah well memories. So I made my character names like AmSpy, Mahou Kokoro, amfest, Ciel (my HC spy who used the scorpion trike with hardcore fireresist to take down grim chasers .. lol) I forgot my other character names :( oh well they are most likely deleted by now since it's been a long long time since I cancelled.

id proberbly come back if there was changes, ive been playing WOW and love the system where you get rewards for pvping, if NC had stuff like that(not case for owning a pointless op) id be inclined to come back, but ultimatly it seemed pointless pvping.

How come no one else from that time period had their date changed? Maybe you're mistaken about the year.
Because as far as I remember, when I created my account (1 year before you), it was still in Closed Beta. So you couldn't have "gotten" the game in Feb 2002, unless KK mailed you some CD's. And I sure don't remember you from CB, and it's not hard to remember almost everyone, as there wasn't very many people in CB (at least not regulars).

Which gun was the "I win" gun? I wasn't around that early on.
All the freezer weapons worked really well. The 'I win' gun was generally the freezer pistol. Tanks would spec for it especially, freeze your ass then cannon you to death. It sucked. PEs were major abusers of the freezer pistols also. For some reason, there were very few combat spies back then.

I remember the reload bug in beta that did that. after you wasted all your bullets and reloaded your dmg would grow within a zone. Would reset on weapon change or zone exit. But if you had an ammo moded weapon then you could just switch it with normal ammo and back and forth to achieve desired dmg from the get go. Though if you do it too many times it sets back to normal. :P We'd go into storage lvl 8 and kill off the warbot/warbot titan in 1 shot . .lol. We'd just take turns . . was pretty funny though afterwards the thrill of fighting in there wasn't the same . ..lol.
I should be back this Friday. Yay! Just to see how things are now. Kinda miss 'Cron.

The vehicles were pretty cool when they put them in, except when you got one stuck in a hole (good ole WL pits that you can't get out of, gotta love em!), and had to run back to a garage to park it then resummon it!

And Spyware! Allthough I didn't really use him alot back then....I actually think I had him lom'ed to droner once (my very first char on pluto was a PE droner btw...goes to tell how much you know of the game when you begin hehe)
I started in Beta 4 back in the days of Keithz, F4lk!er (or however he/she spelt it), Genius, Imhotep, Spike etc. I don't think NC was necessarily better then but it was it's newness that made it appealing, a whole world to explore! I'd sure love to go back though....

an old [TgR] member just got back 2 weeks ago ( din't actually talk to him till a few days ago ) but he was around from march / april 2003.. ages ago :p
like 3 other people who weren't around for ages came back last week.. going good i guess :)

So i can see I'm not the only old school veteran who wondered what has happened with the lost love that is NeoCron.
Well, I have to admit, I'm curious about what has been done to the environment and game after 2 more years of much needed development. I was one of those who always thought Neo was one step away from greatness but just kept missing the boat once upon a time, in their potential for a meaningful political environment alone.
Perhaps the boat is finally docked?
What's the best way now to get reacquainted with the particulars of the game environment and structure, etc.

I'm going to give NC another try, look for me leveling a 10-day trial account in a sewer near you sometime this week or next.
I see this ending in one of two ways: I either quit again on the first day that I come back, or end up quitting after I become addicted and end up failing all my finals 8| It's basically a lose-lose situation, but hey what the hell.
Good to see a lot of you old (old old) school Pluto / beta guys hanging around here. The community is truly what made the game so fun so very, very long ago.
