Its an insane 3rd person pvp crossed with a lvling thing aka kick ass. Its only about 150meg to dl and if my comp runs it any comp will lol

There is an International Version.
You'll find a lot of Paradox on Gunz Online, because when we get bored we go play that. Some members who will not be named are too cheap to buy CS:S, so they can't play it with me :(
It was a fad among the The Opera (http://opera.redeemedsoft.com) community for a while back inorean beta, but they all decided it sucsks and quit after about 2 weeks.

did some sword duels for 30 mins or so then joined a 16 player server and got to the top of the map despite being only lvl 3 with the starter weapons... a game where skill matters, not campping skills or numbers.
i'll be playing it alot methinks

servers seem to be down atm... and its a bitch to log in at any kinda primetime... but its well worth gettin if you like shooters.
i swear to god... specialists on speed.
the melee / gun combo is handeled very well... nothin beats runnin at someone deflecting their bullets lightsaber style, smackin them with a stun blow, then whippin out your duel uzi's and firing at their body as they try to get up off the floor...

I'm trying to give Gunz a chance but so far I don't like it much. The controls are so clunky and don't always do what you want them to do. I don't see how someone could say this game takes much "skill". I'd rather play quake if I want a deathmatch... I've tried all the starting weapons and done all the "moves" listed on the site. It could be really good but right now I'm just not having fun.
It's free though, hard to complain when its free...

i've had no problems with the controls, and i only use the starter weapons atm (rusty sword and the akimbo uzi's) however i'm saving up 850 bounty points for the dual swords / katanas

The good thing is, the difference between damage of the higher level and lower level kit is fairly small, so it is very possible for lowbies to kill lvl10+ people (especially in a Gladiator match).

Same, due to Gunz' netcode a lot of my hits aren't registered as taking damage when I use a gun. But when I use a sword, they count every time :)

Read some of the forums and as far as i know its going to be free all the time,
they want to make cash by selling the higher end items weapons and armor. I
know that head gear is one of the main things you need to pay for....oh and also
the glowy weapons.

Yeah, Psyborg does that :p
You can block it, if you are fast enough. Also remember, when you get knocked down on Gladiator, to turn around as soon as your stand up, or you get poked in the arse. Best move has to be double tapping forwards, then jumping and hitting someone as you fly by them. :D
We should make a room called "NC" with the pass as "neocron", then anyone who plays can join. At the mo, if you see a room called Paradox, you can guess who you will find in there :rolleyes:

Yeah, because the 1 million+ players of all of WoW right now are all in your age bracket. The most Gunz has had trying to connect to its servers is 150,000. Convienently that was the same time as CS:S had a big update that made a lot of servers unreachable until they patched. :rolleyes:

i cant be bothered to attempt to log in for god knows how long. i heard word they were moving the servers to new hardware sometime soon so i'll play after that.

No idea. I just use the default keys. Shift is block with a sword.
Also ya i have to admit the community is alot like CS. There are alot of good people aswell though. BTW my names marui if anyone sees me.

thanx for the info, i allready installed yesterday but i couldnt get it, i keep hitting the enter button tonight :)
i written a nice thing about them kids playing neocron allready, in particular mintfear (vehement,reklin.. nimble here on the forums) but i deleted it cause it always ends in them kids shittalking me and me laughing in there face ... gets boring so i passed for today :)

WoW has kids sharing their accounts with parents, because I've been in a hunting group with capped players, where one person had to leave because their Mum wanted to log on :lol:

I can probably give all you GunZ guys the details to NCAT ventrilo, seeing as noone uses it anymore, but it can only hold up to 10 people.

yeah Asurmen - most people in GunZ do suck. I was lvl 6 in a server where everyone was higher than 10 and max lvl was 21. I came out 2nd for highest xp. my m8 Venomz0r (TheJester) came out first. I won the round for having 30 kills :p
I kill alot but I die alot.
I used to do the dagger thing, stun + kill. Not anymore, pure shooting and sometimes when people annoy me I stun em.
dagger > swords tho, killed more people with my dagger than with a sword. some people just kick ass with a sword, I wanna learn that :p
@ Jedi, I have work tonight and in a minute I'm going to the gym, train a bit. I'll be on comms either after work (at 2AM CET) or tomorrow.
but I've got graduation parties every night the next 2 weeks so I won't be on alot. Luckily I have TheJester to lvl my chars ;)

I think the netcode is dodgier than NC's, because I experience the same thing. Always get the impression it takes a lot more to kill everyone else than it does to kill me.

Cavantos always was my SoF2 (Soldier of Fortune 2) nickname before I joined the nationals.The sword does more damage and with a little bit of practice you can dodge their attacked, hit them when their blocking
the best way, Ive found, to get hits with a sword is to run at them then leap over them and swing, youll hit them in the head, also, I use the stun move with the sword then jump up and hit them, wich looks awsome
Otherwise I just dash alot with the sword, Ive dodged 4guys shooting me..
then again they sucked :)

I used the Dagger a bit myself, was funny just hearing all these peoples screaming. also its great fun having someone flame you for 5 minutes and say they own you, then smash them in the face with a shotgun while they're laying on the floor :lol: Now I just use it to get back at Shotgunbiatchi's and other Dagger hoes.

I used to kill 4 people with my sword at the same time, 1 slash and they all dropped
Ok I confess.. they were fighting eachother first then I jumped in and slashed.
i missed the best screenie in teh world, i had a fanastic good unbeatable headshot lvl up
yellow wings blue hammer red orb purple sumin and the white angle wings and i didnt capture
ANYWAY
i play gladiator and arena
stand middle podium charce ur swords, wait till u see a group fighting, jump down using korian style moves, then use power atack to hit em all and slash jump untill all the group are dead, or u unfortunatly get pincered and die ur self, all fun though
ya i cant get in either and i left it auto clicking 8 houres, went to work came back and nothing
Im now lvl25 and still use the lvl18 rifle. Im usaly in the top3 on my team.
Rifle+shotgun+sword :D
If myfirst rifle clip dousent kill em (and it usaly does) i take out my shotgun becouse im now 10 feet away. If i get closer and they still arnt dead i slash em. Works every time and there is no escape :P.
I also love it when people try to push me over with the dagger move. I jump to the side right before they lunge and put 10 rounds in them while they are imobile. The more skilled players dont use daggers though. (if you want me to explain, ask.)
Anyways ide like the ncat vent stuff, if you dont mind.

I usually play Deathmatch/TeamDeathmatch.
favo maps are Island / Mansion
I absolutely HATE Town.
I usually end 1st or 2nd with the XP, sometimes (depends what map) come in first with 30 kills.

I dont have alot of time atm coz of rl (good things tho, not bad for once ;)) but I'll play GunZ when I can and if the gf is at work.
/edit; sword is better than the dagger if you wanna use stun. dagger makes you stand still for a second or 2, it's bad. people who try to dagger-stun me usually die from my rifle coz they cant move :D
/edit2; Island is my favo map coz most people fall into "hell" :D saw 1 guy lvling DOWN coz he fell down into "hell". He was level 15, he fell, back to level 14.
There was 1 round where I kept falling down, still had 4000 Xp but I could've had over 8000 :(
/edit3; if noone is on the ncat ventrilo server, wait there :) not many people use it. I've got 2 more servers to be on, that's DarK and VENOM, but I don't log on VENOM much (they harrass me tbh :p). Usually if I'm on vent, I'm on the NCAT vent ;)
(Ignore Granolla Bar, he's cool but loud as hell.)

how the hell can u manage to get into the servers? I was trying to log in whole last week at various times - without any chance.
So i finally gave up trying.
u take a casete tape or a similar heavy object, u rest the vhs tape on the keyboard's enter key, walk out the room, come back later nad it should have eventualy logged on,
in a few days the new servers will be patched in with clan wards, which, after getting clan exp u will beable to get ur own clan logo

atm the best logo, I think, for GunZ is the old FanG sig, girl with angel wings, as you level up you see your own set of angel wings :p
plus our clanname is still The-Saints :(
Venomz0r changed me to leader somehow so I'm gonna figure out how to change it, if not... guess its powerleveling and get bounty to make a new clan ;)

having voice-comms and a team of 8 that you played with/against in NC doesn't make you good in GunZ, GunZ is totually different.
Me teaming up with a member from FF in GunZ ? unlikely but I wouldn't mind at all since GunZ has absolutely no relation with NC.

I wouldnt go putting too much effort into the game. Anything that lets you own almost instantly may seem crazy fun at first but will have no lasting appeal. A nice steep learning curve before you can be classed as *good* is what's needed.

I played neocron with noobbuffs, I've noobbuffed myself more than people noobbuffed me (about 7 times in 3 years).
I've been stunned in GunZ alot more than I've stunned people, but I almost always get out of the stun and still kill them.

sword is better than the dagger if you wanna use stun. dagger makes you stand still for a second or 2, it's bad. people who try to dagger-stun me usually die from my rifle coz they cant move
To easy to counter the sword one and it dousent have the range of the dagger. (jump to counter at the right time)
And im a bit skeptical about the crazy korean style. I mean they can move realy well, but the only weapon they can consistently hit with is a shotgun. And thats only when they are flying by me. I end up killing them more then they kill me. Maybe i havent met a real good person who used that style yet.
As for logging into gunz, DONT put somthing heavy on the enter key. It dousent work. Press enter only when somthing is there, as in not whe its trying to connect or somthing. Longest i have ever taken to log into gunz was 6min, and it usaly takes me 30 seconds. I sent to sev with somthing on my enter key and i wasent in. Connected for a min and got in. Tried heavy thing on the enter button a few times.

Just reached lvl 21 - mad xp and mad bounty is what I can tell ya.
came in a server, they were already busy shooting and spamming bullets.
ended up with highest score and 28 kills (2nd was 29 kills, I was 3rd, 4th and 5th had 27 kills)

I'm learning those mad korean moves... pretty fucking hard but I've killed a few people with it. easiest thing to do it you wanna learn it - get a sword and a shotgun, dump the rest (except armor and med kits if you use em) and start slashing, jumping, double tapping "W, A, S, D" etc.
It's pretty fucking cool :D

korean moves.. you basically "fly"through the map, shooting everyone with a shotgun and the very second you shoot you switch back to your sword to block/slash and run/jump to fly again.
I'm getting pretty good at it, except I got a feeling the shotgun does really shitty damage.

Mansion - you can get mad xp, in the hallway theres alot of people you just jump forward and backwards and you'll kill about 4 at the same time (that's how I get my 30 kills tbh :p)
Island - Most people fall down, which is pretty funny.
Town - good for those korean moves ;) (video with the player 'Korean' is shot at Town, it's my inspiration :angel: )
Station - Lots of boxes and trains to hide to surprize the enemy :lol:

I used to hate Town, but with the korean moves it's the best lvl you can get :D, exception of Station, that one just rocks.
I just got out of a game fighting Anko.
normal team deathmatch, Town.
I pressed F11 soon as I found out he was in the game :p
Killed him twice I think. the times I killed him wasnt with the korean moves.. pure lvl 18 rifle bullets :D (not spamming the complete ammo into him)
1 bullet hit him. Ok I confess, he was fighting some other dude but it was my kill :D.
did those korean moves for the rest of the map, killed 6 people in total but Anko got me about 11 times or something. He really is fekking good.

ok... when you change weapons you can do another dash and another wall move.
if you can combine wall moves / dashed with jumps, and time your weapon changes (and a shot while changing when needed) then you will be flying around the map, hard as hell to predict.
i havent played since this thread started, but from what i have seen here (and from the replay posted a page or so back) thats what it seems to be.

key combos are fucking insane!
press W, press E (next weapon) press Q or 1, press W again, and while leftclicking your mousebutton you gotta press shift.
all that plus your spacebar...

ill whip up a macro later for u to use, u can use it to get the idea of what ur suposed to be doing,
ill writing in some common macro program wich will expire and leave a tag on ur pc so u cant use it forever rather than write it out right =] training purposes children not to cheat :D

i played this game for 5 minutes yesterday for the first time in my life, kinda fun killing 4 people in my first round lol, 2 x lvl 2 a level 4 and a lvl 5 ... they felt kinda nibbish being pwned by a lvl 1 lol ... second round the lvl 5 comes up, stuns me with a dagger and shoots me to pieces ... i couldnt even move ...
i read this technique here so i kinda knew about this shit happening ... onlything you can do about it is level to that dagger and guns and do the same ... lame
after these few minutes i almost melted cause of sitting behind my computer with 35 degrees outside (and inside) so i gave up and whent outside, looks like a fun game tough :)

apparently, afaik, the quest thing is in the full (korean) game, not yet implemented in the beta we're playing.
to make a quest server; you gotta hack it.

1) Your character stays the same regardless of the server you play on, they are merely to decrease lag
2) I don't think you lose the XP, because I've crashed many times/lost connection and not noticed a change in my XP.
someone make a server, i'm bored!

FFS JUST BASH SPACE AND U WONT FALL, they have self stuned the m self doing the dagger dash tyherfor open up on em and kill em, its easy (i use swords to kill em cos its better at close range cos u can then upercut them)
ok kiddies inm sitting with my ahcked file and no way to upload, sumbody give me alink to upload it, erm i didnt crash it this time, i have relesed my files openly around the net so all can use
novermber and quests are relsed properly,
uzis are noob weapons, at higher lvls there sukkie, rifuls are better for epirianced users,
nobody at realy high lvl uses daggers cos everybody can dodge,
shot guns at high lvls own but only if u got korean style moves
u dont need fraps, this game has a built in recording system and u can see EVERY person in game if u record it, its quite amazing i must admit, it means everybody has there position updated properly, which is a good sign
erm i would go into how to modify the file ur self but in doing that im takling about how to hack files which (i doubt it but posibly) could be carried over to altering the neocron file
hacking open the game files, the whole thing is a big old network of xml's how easy is that to hack

Nice, the only game I ever butchered was the demo of Evil Genius. Got me alot of items which werent going to be released till the retail version.
Some of those sound quite cool, though I hope it won't be all Sailor Moon effects when they're cast and more FF: Advent Children, we don't want it to end up like NC2 do we! :p
If the game had a console I bet alot of people would be able to do quite alot of damage to it, you'd be suprised how many companies actually add simple commands ingame which allow you to change important things ("/gm god_mode 1" anyone?) okay maybe not that important. ;)

Terayon; with critical hit I think they mean the charge-up attack from your sword/dagger. (plus maybe a headshot?)
can't you hack it so that you'd skip all the lowlvl mobs and go straight for the big bosses? :D

Sorry Nid I don't understand, hacking or exploiting about ANY game at all?
I think people are just messing about this way while it's in beta, all of the things we're playing with are due for the retail release so it's not really hacking or exploiting in the sense to gain an advantage, just to try out some of the hidden things. (I messed about with the quest game type and got no experience/bounty, so I'm not gaining anything from it.)
Though I understand that if you don't agree with it then it cant be discussed, so.

i played gunz yesterdayevening, leveled my lvl2 char to a lvl 8 char, i wasnt exactly powerleveling so i must say the leveling goes smooth ..
the combination i like best is the starteruzi's, the starter autorifle and the dagger :)
uzi for close, rifle for far and the dagger to stun or when im out of ammo :)
i cant do all the weird jumps but thats not even necessary, bit of dodging and diving and a bit of jumping and everything turns out ok :)
im mostly at the free channels, extremely fun seeing a lvl 51 trying to get you with all he's show and blabla and you yust stun em (dirty dagger) ... shoot em with the uzi's ... he thinks bahaa you cant get me and makes some weird roll backwards cause he see's he's health ticking away ... to finish lying on the floor face pointing the heaven he came from with some lead from an assaultrifle in he's head :)

he didnt loose anything, he gained the least of all xp tough ... round i was talking about he gained 138 to be correct **
im mostly at the top of xp gain, i think this has to do with me being a fairly
low level
** while the rest of us gained between 3000 and 4000

edit 3: small extra question .... you have the health/armour bars etc ... but what is that small grey bar underneath ?

hey im only lvl 12 =] i could lvl to 50 in half houre but theres just no point, games more fun seeing lvl 12 kill noobie lvl 30's +
