Will you buy BattleField 2? I will, got cool Graphics and new engine :D not the old Bf engine :p
I wanna make a reaseach about who will buy bf2 :p
far too expensive for me, good game tho' :(

What Toilet Duck just said. My xp 2800+, 1Gb Ram and an FX5600 don't exactly cut the mustard for these new-fangled "modern" games. If I upgrade though, you can bet I'll be playing it - I love Mechs so that Mechwarrior Mod looks like another good reason to buy the game. Would be better if there was a 'Gear mod for it though :)

hmm... those screenies might be (tried BF once, hated it... too slow combat for my taste) but the mod is planned to be released on BF2 (hense things like "top 100 battlefield 2 sites" on the main page...)
I'll try and buy it when it comes out. Of course I'll need to replace my damned Radeon 9800 Pro. Thing's in a semi-dead state and im on a old Geforce 2 MX 200. Hell I don't even think it'll do 640x480x16 and get 20 FPS with everything down in BF2

mods released on a older version of a game most of the time release in the new version within a real short time. they don't have to think everything up just mod it for the new engine if that even needs to be done. alot of mods for say ut2k4 were out within a day or so the game was out. plainly because ut2k3 was the same engine :p
on topic. nope won't buy the game games like that bore me out so fast. and my brother will prob buy it in time anyway. din't notice till a few days ago but the has combo packs / special edition releases from cod / moh / bf lol.
i downloaded bia last week played it out in a day and din't boot it since. same with swat 4 played it for a day or 2 but stuck on a misison now and cba to launch it again :p started playing ut again a bit. cut my nc time to maybe 2 hours last 2 days 8|

i've only herd of battlefield from the people on Vent and they love it, it was played alot at the last lan we organised and it does sound the shizzle, i was thinkin about gettin it before our next lan but now ive just seen the mech add-on, now im pretty much convinced i want it!

imho the mech looks.... way out of place lol.. a mec in a old war game doesn't really fit imho.
played bf ages ago since my bro has it but never really liked it that much. then again i played all war games but never more then just for a few days @ a lan or just to try it. played moh / cod / bf / bia but all bored the hell out of me after a few hours lol
Def buying BF2. Vietnam was a bit of a let down, but still had awesome times playing it with mates cruisin in fighters n shizzle :lol:
BF2 Looks Awesome, just a shame my new comp isn't here so I'll end up having to play it on low-medium graphics settings.
BFV was made on same engine as 1942 so no wonder it " flopped " as ppl say and how unblanced and how favorised US is :p But i still play it :lol:
i played with both teams, people only say NVA was crap because they have no organisation. People would just go out with their AK-47's and get owned by M16's, where as if they actually used tunnels, mine, trip wires to their advantage, they would win, but noooooo

Err, i hate m16 for its recoil and AK47 is more accurate than M16, us got trickmines ( claymore ) and in stead of tunnel they can lift a thing in heli . And when i play BFV many people use SA7 to shoot down Choppers or use RPG. And the most Vietnam looking maps is Ho chi min trail and Cambodian incursion, big jungle and balanced ;)

tunnels > the lift thingies btw (tough plains spot em in a sec)
and cool trick is making a loop stepping out at the top and stepping back in when the loop is done :) (i cant do it btw)

You guys might want the next PC Zone then, comes out June 23rd. They got a review and demo of Battlefield 2, looks amusing.
BFV : US M60 > Everything.
NVA : Much better fighters... MiGs are much better than the US ones.
US : US Choppers also pretty much own all.
but I cant play BF:V anymore cuz when I load up says theres some graphics error and to install the old driver from some file so I do that, still says it, when I go into game (takes like 5 mins to load each map) then I get weird fucked up colours.

1st M60 nerfed 2. Migs rolls over all us planes, i kill F4s in mig17 :P and 3 well yeah not if theres a ZSU on ground :p
I have the Beta installed - i'll try it later.
Tbh I only pay for MMOs these days.
Battlefield is the type of game you just Torrent innit ;-)

ill yust buy the game when it arrives here in the shops :) tough the look reminds me of POE (point of existance) wich is nice :)
for fun i should post my airpractice map once, imagine a fence 10x20m and a small hill in it ... imagine about 70 VC-bots (botinator) on that hill unable to run away .. imagine yourself being a usapilot with an airfield at youre disposal with every vehicule in the game, especially all bombers and fighters from both sides (BVF).. heli's, jeeps and tanks included .. yust pick sumthing out and start bombing the VC's :)

From playing the demo, doesn't quite live up the hype, but still an enjoyable game. Certainly worth ditching the neglected Joint Operations for!!
I'm sure the game will be much better than what's in the demo...

Because i'm an old vet of Desert combat, was quite easy to master the heli's and planes.
word of advice, put heli's and planes on inverted mouse, a hell lot easier!
BTW, look for the servers with No time limit!

I've set up my own server on my network to practice flying things. At the moment I've got doing a full loop (either starting the right way up or upside down) or a barrel roll 100 metres above ground pretty much mastered. :D
Now I just need to work on hitting the highest altitude by flying vertically, then jumping out :p At the moment I just loose where I am and fly off the map and get shot down :(
I cant even run the fucker cuz I prolly dont meet vid card requirements which is gay.

The demo is great. i just still dont understand the parachute malarky. Do you press and hold the button or just press it. i leapt out of a chopper yesterday with my team as you do and died cos i fell to far yet i engaged the chute. O_o
doesnt look good when your medic dies as he bails out the chopper does it. O_o

Simply hit 9 while falling to open your 'chute ;)

Just press 9, you'll get an icon appear on your right hand side of the screen indicating your parachute has been deployed (plus you'll notice your movement speed and direction change). Use your standard movement keys to direct where the parachute lands, you can spiral downwards pretty fast if you look to the bottom right/left and push forwards with the direction you are looking to spiral down - this makes it easier to land on a particular target.
They banned the servern with no timelimit and allguns unlocked :lol:

find a good 64 player server... think i was playing jolt 4.
join a squad (click squad on the class / spawn location screen) that has 4+ people in. give that squad a few lives, if they dont work as a team move to another.
jolt #4 seems best for squad based combat, most times i log on i find a good squad, assaulting with the whole squad in the APC, or all of us airdropping from a chopper...covering each other as we run accross open ground and such.
oh and i <3 the specialist even more now i worked out how to attatch a satchel charge or 2 to a tank while other people destract the gunner...
oh yes :D
:edit: @ above... what a stupid thing to say... partly because of the electronic arts thing, partly because its a free demo...
MAn, wont be avle to play bf2 on realease, need my summercash so i can buy new parts :( Every that will play please killa enemy in my honor :p
