View Full Version : Does pa change hitbox size?
I hear alot of people complaining that pa increases hitbox size. Anyone tested this and know if pa increases the hitbox, or just the visual green box?
If noones tested this i might when im bored some time.
mm me and promethius tested this and the hit box is slightly bigger but the green box is much bigger :)

Maybe it does increase the size of the hitBOX but not the hitPOINTS, however, some ppl say that when you where PA you are an easy aim, bacuse your bigger...

No it does NOT. Tested it often enough. Though NOT wearing a PA has several advantages i dont wan to miss :)
It doesn't affect your hitbox, it just makes you more of a visual target. If someone doesn't have PA on, you can target them without having the crosshair on them, but the chance of you doing that in PvP is pretty slim as most people will aim at what they can see. If you can see less, you will have to be more precise in your aiming.

The only downside to the CA PA is that it's heavy, it makes you appear to run slower and.... chicks run away from you....

The box may be bigger, but the size of the actual area that highlights the player is not.

from what i have tested the hitbox is bigger... though not as big as the "visual" box.

i cant believe ppl still hold onto this idea. Give it up ppl its bs. Its been tested and if like the guy above sez it is biggerm its is such a small amount that u wont even notice it unless ur both standing still at point blank. That should help you kill the ppl who fre tho

oh its noticable... just not as noticable as it looks from the visual box.

btw its more noticable at range than point blank iirc

I've not tested it myself, but I'm sure the larger gfx box acts as a placebo.

ill agree the gfx box is larger than the hitbox, but the hitbox increases too.
Mmmm, wonder if its diffrent for other PA's.
I've never worried about the size of my hitbox (its how you use it ;) ) as I tend to hope the person I am fighting is having an off day at aiming :lol:
I wondered this myself so while in NF fighting a tank who had PA on I asked him to remove it and it sure did make a difference in size. I also found it was alot easyer for me to hit and kill someone wearing a PA I think this needs to change.
i think if it didnt have an effect it should, PA does have advantages this is a potential disadvantage.. i cant say if its actually harder to hit but if it isnt then its definetly helps by some kind of illusion, like seeing them better on the screen. fighting someone with pa I definetly hit more.

Depends on the PA. A good example of this is have a tank wearing tank PA, a tank or pe wearing City Admin PA and a monk wearing either apu or ppu PA stand next to each other equaldistance from you (strafe left to right to maintain equal perspective and distance) and then move your mouse over each left to right to see how big the targetable area is. The targetable area isn't just the green box that surrounds them either but the point that you start and stop targetting the person. You will see that the monk PA has about 3/4 of the targetable area horizontally as the tank and the City Admin PA has about 1/6 more targetable areas then the tank PA.
I've never worried about the size of my hitbox (its how you use it ;) ) as I tend to hope the person I am fighting is having an off day at aiming :lol:

it *seems* to increase the hitbox size, but for sure, it makes you run alot slower then without PA (no related with speed malus on tank PAs) - i dont know what's the reason but its 110% tested and confirmed. You run faster without PA (at least that's how it looks for others, not sure if this really increase the actual speed, but it makes you faster for anyone who is watching you).
