After this weeks events in the champions league matches between Liverpool and Juventus, and Inter vs CA Milan, Should all italian Clubs be excluded from the champions league next season, or even longer ?

Heres a part from a paper report today after the Liverpool Juventus match.

Before Kickoff Juventus's infamous 'Ultras' hard core fans were in no mood for reconciliation, one brit was cornerd in a bar and beaten with baseball bats, eight italians were arrested.

Hooded Juve fans disguised so they could not be recognised on police videos, rushed at the emrseyside supporters as soon as they filed from their busses at the stadium. They show pictures of people using slings, throwing glass bottles and chairs at people, hell theres one here of a guy with a mask on, in combats with a sling ready to fire into a crowd of liverpool fans, this pic wouldnt look outta place in the middle of a report of the troubles in baghdad...

The Inter fans threw flares onto the pitch, Injuring the goalkeeper when it hit him on his back and burnt a hole through his short and injured his shoulder, and the teams were taken off the pitch with 17 minutes left to play, match abandoned...

IMO all Italian clubs should be barred from the chams league for minimum 1 season, possibly 3

would be funny to over turn the result on milan.
unfortunately not much uefa can do about the champs leauge this season.
and technically nothing the police can do ...on private property (fans own the stand or something)..just for fans not injuring players.

inside the stadium, at the stadium is what effects the football. juve werent actually that bad..(liverpool did a good job in turin :D ). i know there was trouble with police and a fan put in hospital...uefa cant ban a team from a tournamant because of what happens in their cities....police and prevention spring to mind.

the next 5 games at the san siro played behind closed doors will hurt the club and punish supporters (poor fans that cause no trouble too).

however liverpool werent in european competitions after heysel...we should have been but weren't. harmed the club in a big way...doubt we will see any consistant punishment though...

edit: this is for milan not juve...the 'behind closed doors' thing will hurt clubs with rioting fans...but for the kind of actions that cause harm and disruption a year out of european competition would be appropriate.

Ban Inter for 1 season maybe but not all Italian clubs, that would be retarded.

The way I see it is like this, remember 98 world cup ? Englands team were fine on the pitch but we had some fans that were being dicks, causing riot's etc, England got a warning for that and if it continued england would have been kicked out, thats if we wernt knocked out beforehand lol.

If a league club in england had the type of incidents happen that went on at the inter/ac match, the english club would be rollocked by the FA severely, like mentioned above, all home matches played behind closed doors, and most likely a 3-10 league point deduction, however just because it happens fairly often in italy doesent mean that it should be overlooked...

Inter should definately be punnished for what happened there, Hell in England youll probably get a fuckin 5 year ASBO for throwing a flare onto a football pitch lol, yet the italians dont seem to care, and the Juventus 'Ultras' jesus, sounds worse then 100 drunk milwall fans after u, attacking people unprovoked as their getting off coaches at the stadium, christ, at minimum juventus should be playuing behind closed doors for that aswell, and a club fine too, and stadium bans on those identified for causing trouble.

The liverpool fans were took straight into the stadium and back out under a heavy police escort. The news reported today that the only trouble was italian fans and police.

If you think they should be banned and be made to play behind close doors for the incidents then god help English clubs.

There was 3 incidents of Juventus fans attacking Liverpool supporters as they came off coaches. Thats what I meant, I think your thinking of liverpool fans attacking people, I havent seen any reports of that yet.

Ban all Italian clubs for 5 years from Europe much like how the English clubs were punished in the 80's. Gotta come down hard on shit like this.

I say ban them from all international matches, both UEFA CUP/Champions League, but also the national team. It's not only Inter that has had troublesome fans, earlier this year the referee in the Roma-? match was hit by a coin in the head thrown by a Roma fan because he didn't like the referee's decision (the referee that recently quit due to threats to his life from Chelsea fans)

every english football match has atleast 3 hooligans ? Got any proof ? Do you see 15 flares being thrown onto every english football pitch every saturday lunchtime ? Are players being put at risk by english fans ?

English clubs were banned because of the heysel disaster not a flare.

Are players being put at risk by english fans

Blackburn V Burnley - fan running onto pitch to confront Robbie Savage
Liverpool V Man Utd - Mobile phone thrown from crowd at Rooney.
Stoke V wolves - Duberry pelted with coins
etc etc just a few for starters

[quote=clobber]Liverpool V Man Utd - Mobile phone thrown from crowd at Rooney.[quote]

no one will ever get anything bad said about or done to them for that. ;)

also the comparison with english football isnt entirely accurate because of the huge police presence and cctv at prem (all i suppose) matches. the incidents involving things being thrown are normally tracked and people banned from club aswell as cationed/prosectued by police.
aint never gonna happen to italians in their stadiums.

edit: if you know anything about the north west, and particularily burnley blackburn, then you would know that predictable riots have nothing to do with football. its just the catalyst.

eerr, you guys are talking about what we Americans call soccer right? I'm not too familiar with the terms you are using. I think I did read something today about the flare incident.

I was told by a friend a while back that the fans love fighting one another, I assume thats what this is about

but yes it is soccer in us and oz.
and a flare being thrown isnt such a big deal when exposed to the amount of crap we are...but should be punish severely to try and stem such behaviour.

Aw c'mon, don't be upset him :(
you know how it is, being brought up in a different culture and all.....

Anyways, yeah shit like that is wrong...I mean, I don't know if your "Football" players have the stature that our athletes here in the US enjoy, but recently, there was an incident where a basketball fan threw a beverage at a player on the bench , which ensued a brawl between several ball players and fans alike. There were stiff penalties imposed on the athletes, and if I'm not mistaken, a few fans caught some trouble with the law as well.

It just shouldn't happen.

I wonder if it has anything to do with getting sauced during the game.... :D
