Why have u named ur chars what u have??
Mine -- pretty self explanatory.
But Nidhogg??? Odin???
And i saw a dude called PlumPlops the other day lol.
Im a curious cat (polite version of nosey).

The GM team are all named after gods or mythical entities. This is why you see these names in other games, such as the Final Fantasy series, for example Nidhogg is a dragon-like beast in FFX

Mines from the game Hexen, them green priests called dark bishops, which was what I used initially but the servant bit sounded more nicer. Loved that game though.
Oh and stupidly I have used the E instead of the A for awhile so I'm use to having the E in there.

as for forum name... Jester is always taken :p Jester was shortened from Astoopidfool... which was just too long in fps' if you put a clan tag before it.

zasshu - my hybrid monk - zasshu means hybrid in japanese (apparently)
soapie - was soap on a rope in nc1 but cos when nc2 went retail you werent allowed so many spaces in name - its a shortning

Had themed names to do with death: Mortiis, Necris, Khaine (God of Murder), Mr Manson (Manson was a serial killer)
James, Michael and somebody else Bond are my tradeskillers. Thought it would be ironic to name a spy James Bond, and the others followed suit in my RP family :rolleyes:
Athon Solo is a nick that I carefully picked out years ago when I wanted to stop using lame nicks like 'Pir8' playing Quake online. As far as I'm aware, other than the odd temporary identity thief, there is no other Athon Solo online.
Athon sounds like some sort of mythical god or something. It can also be interpreted as 'long lasting' or to so with stamina (marathon, <insert activity>-athon, etc). And yes, it was derived by removing the l from Athlon.
Solo is an oxymoron on the fact that I prefer multiplayer games and in particular team gametypes as opposed to ffa / lms type stuff. It also signifies independence, an ability to think for myself when necessary.
The middle names of my Neocron characters are taken from scifi works I've read. Mainly the classics such as Dune or the Neuromancer series.

Mr. Oblivion - back in my quake 2 days, I was a rail whore. The name sounded like it went well with a rail whore.
trigger hurt - half life server logs. Sounded cool. Can't use it anymore because of the naming rules. It just doesn't look right with the first letters capitalized.
Ezekial Stone - I thought my spy could use a nice, ambiguous name. Only a few people have actually known where the name comes from without using a search engine.
Forty-six and Two was my tanks name. Song from tool about genetic evolution...thought it fight right in with Gen-Tank. Now I can't use this name cause some jackass in the dome thought it would be cute to name his pe that.
back in the days where 8 colors GFX was uber i used Hammer as a nick. but once the internet was invented it was not unique enough.
my girlfriend allways had a joke about me in my "DO NG", my old SEAT Marabella so i simply put my initials in front.
i was allone with that nick a few years,but found out there is another msdong (from korea i think) on the internet.
oh and i think i dont have to fear someone sue me, for blocking his copyright protected domain :)

Dogface :: when I was in US Navy bootcamp, there was this one drill instructor that had a really strong spanish accent, and you couldn't understand what he was saying alot of the time. And, his insult towards everyone was Dogface. "SHUT UP DOGFACE! WHY YOU NO ABLE TO DO ALL PUSHUPS IN TIME GIVEN! ALL OF YOU DOGFACES WILL WASH YOURSELVES AND GO TO THE BEDS RIGHT NOW!" ...of course, it became very fun to imitate, and the word Dogface came into my vocabulary.
Bones Jackson :: Original Sega Genesis, Mutant League Football, the coolest name in the game and the best runningback/wide receiver, Bones Jackson. I don't know why, but I love the name.
THE ANAL AVENGER :: Sometime on Uranus a while back, someone was talking about renaming a clan and asking for ideas. Of all the retarded, smartass ones I tossed out, one of them was The Anal Avengers. I then started my own little line of characters: The Clitoral Crusader, The Pelvic Pulverizer, The Vaginal Vagrant, but the only one that I ended up keeping was THE ANAL AVENGER. Go Figure. First is always the best.

NvidiaTNT2 - started using it back in the days of Delta Force: Land Warrior. I was so overly obsessed with the video card I had on my computer at the time, which was a Nvidia 'Riva' TNT2 M64 card. So, when it came time to name my character for playing online, I went with NvidiaTNT2, because I couldn't fit all that crap in the name without it getting cut off.
I later switched to simply "Nvidia" because I got sick of people asking me in EVERY online game, "Are you really using a TNT2 in this game? OMG OUCH LOL!" It got kind of annoying. ;)
In the beginning of NC2, someone told me a 'Nvidia' used to play on Uranus, but as far as I know, I've had the original "rights" to the name, as in all the time I played NC1 Beta, NC1 Retail, NC2 Beta, and NC2 Retail, I've yet to ever see, or hear of another Nvidia.
As far as I've known online, except for constantly-name-changing whores in Counter-Strike who like to name themselves off their video cards, I've never run into another Nvidia.

We all have to pick our names from norse mythology.
There seem to be 2 different explainations for my name.
It's either:
#1 Twilight of the Gods
or
#2 The end battle, the apocalypse
I figured either of those suited my heavy handed style of modding back then when the forum during post EU hours was out of control. I was the apocalypse visited on the thread hijackers, spammers, trolls and flamers.
Things have calmed considerably since then. :)
Contrary to what some people seem to think, my real name is not Rik :rolleyes:
Back in uni my housemates thought I looked like the guy on the front of the Ricycles breakfast cereal box so the name kind of stuck. It's also plastered all over my hockey stuff now as well.

Bugs Gunny. I like the cartoonchar, and he caries a big gun. Was my favorite char in NC1, but is now retired. He comes out once a week or so.
Missing a Life. Cuz i think PPU'S are boring to play and level. I was FORCED, yes FORCED to make a ppu.
Missing Pieces. A constructor, just thought it would look funny on 5 slot weapons.

The great houdini..... I was making an apu, and the name popped in my head. Might as well have been David Copperfield or whatever.

Origin - In Legaia 2, a summoned creature is called an Origin. It sounded cool, and it's stuck ever since. The prefixes are only there when someone registers MY nickname before me (:mad:)
Stryde - Loosely based on the Strider games (the old ones) - some people online have 'Strider' as a nickname, so I removed the 'R' and changed the spelling. Although, thanks to the '5-consonants-in-a-row' rule, I had to put an extra 'I' in the middle of it. Proof that you can make reasonable names with 5 consonants in a row :) :lol:
Mavirious - Don't ask where this one came from...i suppose you could say it has the letters of 'virus' in it...but he's a constructor..?
Khaeotic - Look up chaotic in the dictionary, change the spelling a bit and bingo, one character name. :D

Father Jack, well i needed a cool name for a monk, so i thought along the lines of religion, then realised i needed a character to swear for no reason on different trade channels when i need to.

Sister Ray, kinda matches with Father Jack, but her name is taken from a Velvet Underground song.
Predator for my melee tank dunno why just seemed good at the time and i like the film predator.

Obsidian - I always used this pseudonym when playing games, just like it (named after the volcanic glass-like stuff). I can't remember if I owned the original Obsidian on Saturn, as my friend was paying for my first ever NC account, then he cancelled both his and mine. When I restarted the following year I had to create my own account, and so I rerolled my first char as Obsidian II. Then of course during the transfer, I took the opurtunity to grab the name Obsidian on Terra.
Asmodeus - I think Asmodeus was a demon or something, I dunno, I always liked the name. I created a melee tank on Saturn towards the end of retail called Dominion, and when I came to transfer him, the name had gone, so I renamed that same melee tank to Asmodeus, which was always on my shortlist.
The Admiral - I was going to call my Hybrid monk (at the time) Admiral (somebody), for no good reason really. I couldn't think of anything to fill the (somebody) placeholder, and decided that instead of being an Admiral, he could be The Admiral.

Tater Tot- Got from watching Ron White. Was also known as Tater Salad throughout earlyer NC2. was tired of being a spy, so i switched over to APU.
Dr.Kleiner- Of course from Half-Life 2. Big Half-Life fan. Decided to create a poling Spy, that does nothing but poking, and/ or researching.
Ernst Stavro Blofeld- Named after the leader of Spectre, just decided to go with that name.
Macgyver- An engineering spy that is named after Angus Macgyver from the TV show Macgyver.

Lexxuk = Lexx, from Lexx tales from the Darkside, used that way back in 98 I think, but its common on the interweb, the UK is cause I'm from the UK, so when people called me Lexxus I'm like "wtf O_o" or "hey, are you from the UK?" duh, and people who spell Lexx Lex, like Niddy for instance, Lex is not an abbreviation of Lexxuk, coz really the names Lexx UK, go figure :o

anyways, the voices in my head tell me the names for my chars...
My main char is Dave, which took some long hard thought and imagination and subtle cross-references to famous works of fiction to come up with.... my own name :rolleyes:
My melee tank that was created on Saturn was originally called Roger Melee (after 'the man on the telly' :p ) and was renamed after another TV star on moving to NC2...Kenny Everett's own 'Cupid Stunt' with reference to the silly stunts that melee tanks get up to, like diving into apu barrels in the chaos caves :p Of course that name couldn't stay, so it became another truly original and imaginative name like..........Davey.
Ok, no prizes for RP for me. So sue me. :p
My Spy, Mr Tickle was of course named after one of the Mr Men. I was talked into rolling him on Saturn by my friend who was gonna make a PK clan called the Mr Men :lol: His name at the time was Mr Happy. The clan never came about and Mr Happy et al are no more. I kept the name for transfer to NC2 as a tradeskiller as i couldn't think of anything better.
My monk's identity will remain a secret as he is occasionally a bit of a bad boy. 8|
Now Dave's name in NC1 was the name that i use on these forums now, Mr Kot...and that really IS a long and complicated story, and is purely coincidental that the german speakers amongst us give me funny looks from time to time, but that story will have to come another time ;)

I said this in a very old thread but here I go again.
I played Magic the Gathering for 4 years from about 11-15 years old. In magic there are Drakes, as in small dragons. They are also in many other fantasy games as I'm sure most people know. So I'm Drake. The name isn't too common and I'll keep it for a very long time. Or until they make a media icon with my name.
About the 6k in my name, around y2k everyone was adding 2k on stuff. So I added 6k to my name. Glad I did because the name has yet to be taken anywhere.
