View Full Version : FRE everytime the client recieves char info?!?!!!

OK, since the usual FRE yesterday morning, I cannot play, period. I can run the launcher, it launches. I log in fine using either resume or login. Choose Terra or whatever server and click ok, 1/2 sec pause and **BAM**. Or get the synchronizing on the screen (when I choose resume) and then the psi activation sound and within one sec *BAM* FRE.

defragged, moved game to another partition, ate lunch, moved game to another drive, file check within the launcher, kikked the dog, shut down everything unness. with task manager, restart, scandisk, pulled some hair out, all to no avail.

WTF?!?!?!!!!1111

From an external view, this seems to be server based. Only becasue it kicks at the exact time I seem to be gettin anything that is char based (ei server side) ALthougyh I do0nt know for sure what or where. The only thing I am sure of is that can't play.

Any observations, suggestions, or recommended shinanigans would begreatly appreciated.

Please email helpdesk@neocron.com and report it. It may be that your character is in an in-between state in which case it would need to be moved by a GM before you can log in again.

Hmmm, when you say moved do you mean you copied the files or did you reinstall.

I find that reinstalling the game every 2 months helps me out a lot.

reboot --> filecheck --> reboot --> play

€ just read your post again - even if you already did the filecheck and still getting this with all server and all chars, i still believe its a client problem.

Reinstall the client, i had exactly the same problem and it helped for me.

Whats the addy to get the client? I checked ftp.neocron.com and couldn't seem to locate the client stuff for NC2

Try to switch to DX7 mode if you are playing in DX9. Coz I have the same thing if i am using DX9.

Had this too, couldnt see what cause that, but only a Reinstall could solve it!

I don't suppose your char is in the wastes?
bob's apu was in the wastes, he'd log in fine, then fre straight away.
we then checked my chars, he moved my tank to point red cos of some reason, and BAM .. fre...

he reinstalled and all was ok...

Im sure some are. The one I was tryin to log back into when this whole mess started was in El Farid if memory serves.

Have been workin with KK and got some rteally timely responses from the folks tha Nid pointed out. Then when i needed to get with the folks at tech@neocron.com I ahve yet to hear anything . . .

Ima try a reinstall while waitin' as it seems to be, as in your case, the end all be all source of a fix. =)

The tech support line is far more specialised that helpdesk and as such is manned by a smaller crew. They'll get to you in time.

heh, I wasn't implying that they were slow or that they were playin WoW instead of working. Jsut that I hadn't yet heard from them. :)
