Ok, so I dusted off my (1337) drawing-skills, and this time I took a little help of my brother... although not for this particular picture, but for another version of it (kind of an interactive tutorial, he's a damn graphics wiz :D )

http://brtf.zapto.org:8080/luna.jpg

Ta-daa! Meet Luna. (Name taken from the song La Luna by Belinda Carlisle (Ok, so the song wasn't written by her, but she still did the best performance for it :p ). Oh, please give me some feedback, because I want to draw more... This only took about 5 hours, and I'm almost totally new to photoshop...

*Disclaimer: I'm not good at this, and I'm not pretending to be either, so please hold back the flames.*

//edit - Here's the original that I scanned in and then edited:

Hell I still can't draw any thing better then stick people  .

Have you tried? I can point you to this (http://www.howtodrawmanga.com/tutorial/tutorial.html)...

It's how I started drawing persons, I couldn't draw much else but stickfigures before either... there are more of these tutorials, but this one is the best of them all. (You can do the drawing in photoshop or with pencil and paper, both are equally good imo, just depends on how you like it.)

I'm still using that site as a reference, because I have always had a bit of a problem seeing the picture clearly in my mind and how the proportions and shades should be... Even if you don't like anime/manga this site can be of some use, you get some views on how to draw bodies in different stances and so on. (No, there's no naked pics on there :p :D ) :)

Yes, Skusty, that's the same pic... that's before I continued editing it though, I had just finished the outlines and the fill-outs, so I added a little "neon-effect" to it with photoshop... came out kinda like the stripper-signs in pp1 :)

Lil T - Yeah, eyes was what I started with, the shiney big ones are very nice to draw. It's a very simplistic drawing-style, so it's easy to get good pics and that's why it's so rewarding. :)

Hehe I'm having trouble drawing people as whole, but I'm going to keep practising now. Its a very fun drawing style nothing like you learn at school in art www.polykarbon.com/tutorials/index.htm <--- that site is pretty decent too. If you check the hair tutorial it shows you step by step to make hair ^^

Mr A, I have to inform you, that at the present, drawing > NC, period. :p

@Lil T - The hair I find is the easiest part, the shoulders, arms and especially the legs are the really hard bits... (guess why I made her wear a long skirt :p ) :)

In addition (Yeah, I'm stuck making these horrible pictures instead of playing anything... :p ) I made this guy:

http://brtf.zapto.org:8080/ninja.jpg

Not quite as pleased with the outcome as with the girl, but I'm still just learning this...

PS. Photoshop CS seems to eat alot of resources, even when I don't load any images... O_o So I bought another stick of 512 Mb ram, thought 1 gig should keep it happy... (Had to buy a new adsl-router, 200 gig s-ata hdd and a damn dvd-writer as well while I was at it, so it came down to somewhere around 350-400 euros for the memory :p )

//edit - Yeah, the shadows are all wrong, but I don't give a shit, because I'm tired and lazy :D

You can't?
Humm... They're showing up for me, when I look at this page, so I doubt that it has anything to do with me hosting them on my second comp.... Anyone else have this problem, or is it limited to Mr. Fish? :wtf:

//edit - Could've just been my connection, it's been dying all night now... apparently something wrong with the isp since my neighbour who's got the same isp had the same problem... I fuckin hate ADSL :wtf:

I guess it is limited to Mr. Flash. You might want to check your settings of your web browser.

Your style is... squarey :p
I tend to draw very soft lines, everything's round... your characters have a lot of corners so to speak :) It's giving me inspiration to look at other people's work, woot woot :D

you still find feet the hardest part i guess?

Yeah.. though it just looked better as a knees upwards piccy when I was doing it.

mishkin
11-03-05, 01:25
Hands and feet are evul... too many small parts that need to be just the right size... As long as you make them wear shoes and have their hands fisted or behind something... or even holding on to something, then it's all good... :D

Another one... I need a new mouse methinks, the one I've got starts to shake all over the place even if I'm not touching it... been with me for at least 2 years now  (Me want laser mouse, but imbecilles make only cordless one, ugh :o )

http://brtf.zapto.org:8080/pics/Kumiko.jpg

Anyways, continuing to draw... something to do while I'm waiting for WoW to arrive and so on and so forth

//edit - Aye, christened Kumiko (Eternal Beautyful Child apparently :p )

Lol, I remember seeing that band, whatever it was called, in some weird movie... Man, those camel toes were HUGE! :D

Note - All pictures hosted by myself (yes, that includes skusty's sig, and mine... ) will be unavailable for a while... I'm making my server run linux instead of xp, because I now feel like trying on Gentoo :p
So until I get a grip of the whole linux-apache thing, they'll be offline... :o
