View Full Version : Click2Pay = Info Sellers/Spammers?

So far the only emails I've ever gotten from C2P was the general sign up/confirmation/billing ones.

Recently I've gotten 2 emails on my main ISP email account which is NEVER used to sign up for any forum, or program or anything other than official things such as payment/email from C2P, my ISP etc

The first one I just dismissed as spam as the title was "A whole world of Paypal benefits", since I never use Paypal nor plan too.

Today I get one, same title yet its "A whole world of Click2Pay benefits".

I figure its just some spam related to spyware. Ad Aware, Spybot, HijackThis, and MS Anti Spyware all say I'm clean, as does Norton. So its not a spyware or virus relaying a very unknown email to someone.

AND, if it was a common thing such as a spammer just scanning a domain for email accounts, how would they know to email an American email account with a overseas payment company thats not really known over here?

Some more evidence:

Apon checkng our this riverbelle.com (one of the first domains listed), you are forwarded to a River Belle Online Casino. We all know C2P is used online for casino sites and gambling.

Just curious if anyone else has something similar.

Did you sign up directly via the launcher or directly via the C2P website? If you signed up via C2P directly then they may have. If you signed up via the launcher you should not get any as that was part of the agreement with C2P.

I went through the Launcher back in November. It seemed like the most successful method, worked fine. Within minutes I had my account setup, they called and verified who I was and I've been playing fine since. After my 21 free days were over they billed me for my payment plan and I haven't heard from them since.

Interesting. If anyone else gets these and they are 'absolutely' sure they went through the launcher post it here.

signed up through the launcher as well. I have the exact same email as tost. I've gotten 6 or 7 times thus far. Just added em to junk mail in thunderbird and it goes straight to trash...but it's bullshit for a company to sell my email address. Espcially when I am paying for a service using said company.

Dear chad,

As a Click2Pay account holder, you are eligible for $200?

That's right, when you purchase $50 today at Riverbelle
Online Casino, we'll give you $200 worth of casino credits
as a unique sign on bonus.

I signed up through the launcher. Odin, I sure want this never to be near my email again, just because i pay them to pay you, doesnt mean I should get spam for casinos!

Update Odin? Obviously I'm not the only one who signed up the "proper" way through the Launcher who is getting spam.

I'm not bashing KK here, but seriously KK should get another business partner. This company is either spamming us directly (which seems to be the case) or selling our private information to other online casinos who are they themselves spamming us.

As Asurman say, I pay C2P to pay KK for the ability to play this great game. I don't pay them to play so they can spam me on the side.

Please, help us Odinwan Kenobi, you're our only hope.

Need to talk to 10atacle then about thier choice of business partners as C2P is one of them.
I doubt they going anywhere and just think of the choas when INT release is here haha.
I'm pretty sure I registered through the website direct and haven't got nothing like this which is sorta strange but maybe their direct form had a tick box for this sort of thing and the KK launcher one didn't because of this so called agreement?

But something has gone wrong and it hasn't filtered KK applications out(C2P did something wrong? NEVER!!!! )

Only a guess but that might be the issue.

See my problem with it is, from the looks of it they (C2P) have sold customer information to related product companies, i.e. online casinos.

Now if it was say, C2P just emailing you themselves with your generic "hey special offer" thing, thats common. i still get the occasional email from my ISP about better payment packages and upgrades etc but it's from them, not from some company in a related field that got my information from them.

Afaik, these casinos (Riverbelle and others) aren't C2P owned, they are just some of many affiliates who allow/use C2P as a means of monetary transfer online. If that is true then C2P is doing some shady business, as we never agreed to allow them to give our information away. Depending apon what country you are in, and such, this can be considered illegal business practices.

Their site has no "Trust-e" logo, which is basically an official sanction of proper business mechanics. Just about every online merchant is verfied by Truste, from ebay to google. That has me worried..

so odin? will I be getting these again?
PS: I put up with so much shit from click2pay, including 2 activation fees(after so long arguing is pointless) but this is total BS, selling my info :(

Same here, and I got two of these, one yesterday and the other over a week ago.

Sounded ok with a $200.00 sign-up bonus, but with Dr. Strange's warning re: eTrust, guess I won't be riding the RiverBelle Queen. :p

I know one thing.
Once paypall is there i'm going to pay via that method, even though i have succesfuly used my visa card to go via c2p.
It's just that this seems like a messed up company, and if a lot of banks won't deal with them it must mean they are listed as being an "untrustworthy" business.
