FFXI - I see you!!

Its true, so far on Shiva, I've seen Spermy AND Elrik! Now these aint really common names, so come on Spermy, own up to your little fetish for the cat chicks in game :o

Oh, and the screen for setting up your char, looking at the female ones, its almost like a porn movie, the music is soooo "STRIP STRIP!!" and omg it makes me want to delete my char just so I can look at the girlies again :angel:

Also an NPC called Lame something, and one that is rather like Nidhogg, well, has the ogg, so thing it might be a relation (same tail as Niddy :p)

Spermy cant 'own' up m8, he posted a leaving thread and they closed his account;) I thought about playing FFXI, but when i realised there wasnt a free trial i wasnt prepared to dish out £30 like I did for SWG and then leave within 2 weeks

its the most fast paced turn based i have played... but its still a turn based grind.

grinding is only for leveling and every game has leveling, I'm lvl 9 and its cool. You got 2 types of missions, quests/missions, or you can go mining for ore (found Darksteel first try, 12k in the bank :D) which you can then use in tradeskilling, you can be a cook, miner, logger, even a fisherman, there is tons to do other than leveling :D Currently I'm having to kill stuff for a mission, so I get xp at same time, servers are down for patching tonight, 34MB patch and opening 2 new areas, I've only seen about 2 zones and the city I started in 8|

heh i had the game n expansions in 1 pack, more than mostof the older players had.

any screenies i took were whiped when i deleted it though.

it looks good tbh. the sun effects in the desert were great, as is the water and the sandstorm effects

I'd play this game definatly as I dont mind the fighting and leveling in FF games. Would be nice to have a months trial though. I think this is the only turn based game Ive found to be the best, not liked many of em. I got real bored of DAOC especially and AO I played a bit seemed a bit dull but will give it a try again soon. Even SWG turn based was a grind the more u do it. I think FF is more fun cause u have like the summons spells which are mesmarising at times and then u have to wonder what spell should i use now, should i heal other players or do a powerblow and with FFXI u get real players in the team instead of playin like 3 or 4 chars at once. I always liked looking forward to the story twists and the FMV sequences in the original games but I'd like to know how the MMORPG fits up to its counterparts.

FFXI is a good game, would still be playing it but I canceled it back then since I could only pay for NC2 at the time. I loved my TaruTaru monk then. That little guy was a ass kicking midget of low lvl doom. And Lexxuk ain't lying about the strip show for the cat girls, holy damn I was about to bust out the cream.

It doesnt play like FF games, think Lineage 2 style gameplay, but the opening FMV is awsome, the ingame char effects are awsome, and the game is such that when you play you feel like you are part of the story, you talk to an NPC and a storyline opens up, you take part in your own cut scene, its totally amazing. Summoning, you just summon a pet monster who fights with you, shiva is sexy :D
