XBox Power Cable Recall

Apparently there is a problem with XBox power cables


Microsoft's move follows 30 or so reports from users suffering minor burns, singed upholstery or scorched carpets as a result of power lead malfunctions, the company said. Its own tests revealed a one in 10,000 failure rate.

Xbox owners should visit Xbox.com and enter their machine's serial number to find out how to obtain a replacement power lead. It is not known who produced the offending cables.

i think i ended up needin just a few of the lvl3 and the marathons left, then erased mem card n started again :lol:

Mines a few years old, but I hardly ever use it. Got the replacement cable anyway 'cause I'm thinking of reformatting it and shoving linux on it just for fun. =D

That happened to my room mates Xbox. I laughed. Stupid thing busted the TV, tho. Went almost a month watching TV on my computer...what great quality. They replaced the Xbox, but haven't replaced the TV yet. In my opinion, the TV should have been replaced first.

poor insulation?... I know at work we had a shitty batch of service cable where the insulation was shrinking over time and when the 2 cores touched... pop :p ... so yeah it happens... oh well musta cost em a fair bit to replace everything

It is easier to replace the X-Box power cable with a statnard laptop cable. They are the same thing.
