I downloaded the game yesterday, downloaded all patches, created characters etc... but when i click on one of them i end up in sync and then i'm booted back to loging screen and it says failled to sync with worldserver or somthing like that. I tried every server about 20 times, runned a file integrity check, restarted computer several times, waited a few hours, retried , turned off firewall and antivirus etc... but nothing will do it.

Where does the pb come from and what can i do to solve it?

Sounds like a connection problem

Have you done a tracert? It could help figure out if theres a problem at one of the hops, which could tell you if its a local router or something overseas (assuming you aren't in Europe).

Have you tried resetting your IP?

By chance are you on dialup? (yes I realize firewalls + dialup are rather pointless, it cant hurt to use one with dial up though).

Are you using a router? If so which brand? If so, is another computer that's possibly using the router eating up all your bandwidth?

If you are using a router, is this the firewall disabled? If not can we assume you are using a software firewall such as Zone Alarm? If not, have you checked this router for the correct ports to be open?

Assuming you are using broadband, have you done any line tests, such as a speed test, a test for packet loss or signal integrity?

Can you use other internet based applications fine, such as a webbrowser, an instant messager or a VoIP without any lag or packet loss?

(i know these may seem simplistic questions some you probably already thought of or tried but it never hurts to ask the obvious you'd be surprised how easy it is to overlook something, i have myself many times)

When you disabled the windows firewall did you reboot? if not it would remain in memory and still be active. Also did you try allowing neocron through the firewall? Sometimes your AV software will cause complications with neocron and some other programs.

Best way is to tracert check for timeouts, kill all un-needed processes, allow nc through your firewall.

I mailed you via tech asking for some stuff, I may be a little delayed getting back to you though.

When you disable the Windows firewall it disables the firewall then, you don't have to deactivate it. We even did tests in school with it. Once you turn it on, its on. Once you turn it off, its off. No reboot required.

You could also try change the port that neocron is using.
I have done that a couple times

I can open ports through the firewall yes, but to disable it i need a reboot. I assumed all windows worked like that. If i'm wrong < :o
