In-Game mail spam

Ok this is starting to piss me off ever so slightly as i cannot be bothered to read my mails anymore thereby missing any important ones...reason as follows

I have 80+ unread mails on one of my characters alone all from the DAMM NC GUIDE telling me how to play my capped 83/66 rifle spy...

I have tried to delete them/send snotty replies/acknowledge them nothing helps they keep comming back.You also get that damm unread mails icon during normal gam play at the bottom right of the screen..

I thought spamming in NC was frowned apon...so note to the powers that be

Unfortunately you are not alone to get them. Everyone does. Not just that, the info inside them are really useless, not even good for a newbie. I havnt really looked in player guides forum but hopefully some players have written enough info for new players to read there.

On Terra we have even more spammails. Im talking about the ones concerning the "TH auctions". Surely the dates could be posted in event forums instead, either ingame or outgame. Everyone knows that the auctions are coming by now so it would be very easy for the few that are interested to check the dates in a forum.

Please remove our ingame spam!

For me the messages are generated on a bad logon. You try to log in to Neocron, and you appear with low stats, and no items in your quickbelt. A quick relog usually sorts this problem, but you will find 3 starter messages annoyingly in your mailbox.

I am not sure if this bug was started at Neocron 2's launch, or if it has started to happen since the December database crap up.

Either way we are following the path of Neocron 1, where small glitches like this actually INCREASED over time and were never fixed (for example, mission complete messages, in-game forum post bugs).

Perhaps event notifications could be an opt-out thing. You get the notifications by default but can switch them off in your mail screen (a simple checkbox - adds / removes you from a table of users subscribed to the event notifications).

Personally I think event notifications are a good idea, but I find it slightly annoying to have to delete the mail on each and every one of my (currently) 7 characters (across 2 accounts).

what's worse is the god damn auction emails

some of us what nothing to do with them, we dont want to hear about them or participate in them. i dont need email about them. i dont need a forum sticky about them, i don't need a pm or a dm about them.

yet there is no way to ignore or block them, yet KK does not consider this spam.

I agreee i have stopped careing about my emails in game so much as they are just stupid how to develop my characters crap that i've had a million times and didnt bother to read, two of my characters are capped, and the other two are near it so why would i want some stupid mail ment for noobies that doesnt even help them? Things that are a waste of time:

Caree emails,
NPC skill adviers,
"Quick" Delivery runs that give you 20nc
Copbots & Guards <--- because if someone starts shooting they dont really do anything all they do is stop antie ppl running everywhere. Would be nice if they actually kept the peace so not totally useless just mostly.
level 10/10 mobs next to a warbot, if you can kill a warbot, they provide nothing, if you cant then you'll die while killing the 10/10 mobs.

Probably lots of other stuff i havent said, so feel free to add stuff, maybe KK will take a peek of this thread but i dout it :) Oh well still fun to play eh?

however people asked for more help for noobs etc, and they do at least give noobs some info they might not have had.

ok the spam is bad, but lets not critisize kk to much, at least they did something there in giving noobs some info.
