you tried creating a new account with admin rights then logging into that?

if that didnt/doesnt work, i would advise a windows reinstall.

then you've shagged that good and proper.

backup and install your OS of choice, id say.

question is, why did you use a trojan to break into your own machine?

and what OS are you on? if you have a restore point, im guessing XP or ME

You're not a very good admin, are you?

EDIT: i'm using winXP home, and i used the trojen to break in, just so i could access my reg.

nobby, humour me here...

Why did you hack into your own box in order to access the registry? Surely if its your own computer then you are already an admin

i know but for some reason, it won't allow it, lemmie do another spyware check and see if that fixes it...

nobby I think in the future you only use a calculator as far as computers go. Managing to lock yourself out of your own XP machine (they are pretty idiot proof) and then trying to hack yourself back in is kinda retarded.

Ever though of rebooting the PC in safe mode and accessing the super admin account that is on there? It doesn#t need a password (unless you tampered with that) and it means that someone (not yourself, please) can un-fuxx0r your box.

so how do i un-fux0r it then.

Well, if you are in safe-mode you should re-enable all the things you had trouble with, and scan for viruses too. I'd also recommend backing up your "My Documents" and all other related things with your profile you want (including your favourites) and remaking your admin account.

Ahem. In all seriousness, Nobs, you need to Reinstall, or at least tell us a bit more, How many accounts exist on the machine? It could be that someone just changed the admin rights to a different account?
