Ok, so i recently moved in with my girlfriend and we had to get a router to share
the internet connection, now i've got the router all set-up and it seems to work
fine, we can both acces the internet, but, we can't acces eachothers computer
through LAN.

We both have the same subnet, and the only difference is our ips, mine being
.151 and hers .114.

The router is a D-Link DI-604 standard router as it seems. I'm not to good at this
stuff as i've never done it before so I could use a helping hand. Is it simply so
that the router does nothing else besides rout the internet traffic? I figured it
would work as a hub/switch aswell but I might be wrong.

Ty.

Can you ping the other machine?

If so, make sure you're in the same "workgroup" that's probably the thing.

Also make sure you have the file and printer sharing enabled on the NIC.

We are in the same workgroup, and I cannot ping her computer.
About the file & printer sharing, I do have it installed as a service, on both
computers, and we can acces eachother through a normal lan (computer->computer)
but not through the router...

But from your answer it seems as I should be able to, so i'll keep trying.

Ok, I turned off the DHCP service on the router and put static IPs on both
computers, and it now works one way, she can acces my computer no problems,
but I cant acces hers, and when I try to ping her, I get the right IP but the
requests timeout...

This is really starting to annoy me...

heeeeeeeeelp
