So.

Bowing under pressure, the huge need for out-game Neocron discussion led me to download the mIRC client.

It d/l'ed and installed fine, I suppose. However, it will NOT start at all.

Any suggestions?

I really want to get more access to the Neocron staff.

the program wont start or you cant connect ??

if you cant connect, then either try an alternative server, or check to see if your ISP denies access to irc ports or protocols.

if the program wont start, find an alternative download.

it simply HAS to start.

What Omni Said.

BTW, Your chances of getting access to staff with IRC are .......Remote.
Unless something's changed anyway.

yeah i havent been on irc for long time but last time i went on the u/o NC channel never had NC discussion and the one full of GM's / mods was always full of idle people.

its only useful if someone who likes you is there lol

Well, as I said, it just won't start.

I doubleclick the icon, and then the mouse cursor changes to a hourglass for one second, then back to pointer... and nothing happens.

Step 1:

Download Mirc again.
Install Mirc.
Run Mirc.

If it still won´t start :

Step 2:

Search for Virus.
Search for Spyware.

Return to Step 1.

Only idea I have at all....

yeah thats a possibility.

@threadstarter - did you download from www.mirc.com or do you have some odd irc client?

personally i use Gamers.IRC and have never had any problems (not that i expect them, as Omnituens said... its just a multiplayer notepad :p)

1 - I downloaded from mirc. com

2 - I looked in system tray and used ctrlaltdel to see if mirc WAS running

tbh format your pc, if Mirc isn’t running, there must be something horribly wrong with your pc O_o

I'ma kill those mirc fuckers.

I reinstalled.. now it works.. then I tried to connect to server, then just about nearly all of the text on the desktop fucked up, so it looks like I'm reading a weird, new, heretofore unknown language.

I'm just lucky it didn't do more, like making the fonts fucked or something.

grrr.

edit - whew... reboot fixed it.
