I made some configuration on my windows settings lately, which seems to improve my performance a lot.
My specs are:
Intel P4 1.4 GHz
RAMBUS ram 512
Geforce 4 440MX
:: Edit :: DirectX 9.0c - BUT uses dx7 ingame
Winxp user
The improvements so far I have seen are that:
Higher fps, at least by 5 in "bad" situations, and up to 20 increase in others.
Stable memory, even though it uses much at some point, the garbage collecting seams more smother.
No more lag due to CS and such things!! But a small "lag" when loading player models.
What I did:
(dunno if these are the correct names; don't use an English version of XP)
goto system/advanced/performance/advanced
Change "priority of CPU" from programs to background processes
Then press the virtual memory button in the lower right corner.
Change the amount of virtual memory to "decided of windows".
Dunno if this works for your computer, but it did a lot for me.
And don't blame me if something strange happens :D :angel:
