9800 pro causing monitor problems

A few months ago i bought a 9800 pro card...and ever since ive installed it when turning my computer on I always get a blank screen it usually takes several attempts for my monitor to be recognised. Anyone got any ideas why this happens as im pretty sick of it now, ive tried reinstalling drivers etc but no luck.

This also happened to me, and was annoying for a few weeks. However, I reformatted a few weeks later (for other reasons) and it worked fine.

There must be some other solution, you checked ATIs website?

yeh ive tried a full wipe of the HDD but still dont work, ive also checked the ATI website but i think im gonna have to contact ATI.

i had your problem and i also had some weird lines on any application (including just the windows desktop) 2D or 3D. I managed to sort it out by turning off fastwrites in my BIOS.
