i like to leave my computer on 24/7 but the thing is, my broadband modem loves to overheat to piss me off...that then requires me to restart my computer....too boring, so i just wondered, how do i cool it?

ive tried placing it on glasses to stop any of the ventalation being blocked....
placing it sideways...blahblah!

it shouldnt really overheat at all...

my modem is on 24/7, it doesnt switch off if i switch my PC off, or restart, infact its been on for 15months solid bar a coupla restarts an a 1 hour powercut...

you could try using a standars house fan/mini air conditioning unit to keep it cool tho...

If your modem turns off when your computer does, I'd simply get used to actually shutting down the computer when you're not using it.

Most of the time you'll probably won't need to keep your computer on for the time you do anyway, all you're doing is using unnecesarry electricity. ;)

It's the modems way of telling you to lay off the PORN.

Hehehe good point. I will be installing watercooling on my ADSL modem (as soon as there is a free available port on my local DSLAM that is...).
