Just checked gamespy (they don't lie about these things), and according to them, Half-Life 2 has now gone gold and will go retail November 16th.

I'M STOKED!

Also, North American PC GAMER gave half-life 2 98% in their review, and said it was "Arguably the best game ever."

/me smells Hype.

I think the setbacks killed my anticipation somewhat. If it had been on time I might have bothered trying it - but now I can't be arsed - shame as well though - cos I loved the original.

And no. NC2 was not set back two years.

It makes no sense to release one game and then release the sequel the day after dude...

I need this game as I am the head 3D modeller for a HL2 mod, so my opinion doesn't matter. ;)

HALF LIFE HASNT SLEPT IN 6 YEARS

Its community is greater than (probably) ANY other online gaming community in the world (or at least dedicated to one game). And if people loved HL so much, why not release HL2? It'll make Vivendi/Valve millions, as Doom 3 did for iD.

Valve even put FULL subtitles in (including all noises, ie Crate smashing, Zombie moan etc.), so they could a few more thousand copies to the deaf people. Commitment for ya. They are dedicated, well done to them.
