I'm using DX7 mode because of the clipping distance, anyone else?

I use DX7 because the water in DX9 absolutely destroys my performance.

And that's with:

Mobile Athlon XP Barton @ 2.3GHz
Abit NF7-S v2.0
1GB (512MB x 2) OCZ Dual Channel 400MHz 2-3-2-6
GeForce FX 5700 Ultra

:wtf: :wtf: :wtf: 8| 8| 8| 8| 8| o_O o_O o_O o_O

Athlon 2.5Ghz - 1 Gig Ram - GF4Ti4200 128MB

Use DX7 because DX9 gives me all too frequent crashes ...

DX7 is choppy as hell tho ...

I use DX9 because it gives me better performance than DX7 mode does. The DX9 mode seems to make better use of my graphics card, and since my graphics card is quite a lot better than my processor, that's a good thing.

DX7 cause I dont want my monk pa to look like a fucking retard, like it does with dx9.

DX9... about the water, why does everyone say it kills their performance? I have no problem with it, but the vegetation is another story.

Because it does, for some reason. In the wastelands, when sectors that have water, like Northstar or Jeriko, etc., my fps drop to 25-30 and everything gets really laggy and really choppy. In DX7 in the same areas, I get 60-76fps and everything goes real smooth.

So I use DX7 because of that.

I have a nvidia geforce4 MX4000 and use DX7 as DX9 does not appear as an available option even though the graphics card states that its DX9 compatible.... So voted option 3.....

DX9
Vegetation doesn't affect my fps NEARLY as much as it did in NC1, only complaint is that the veg clip distance is really short, along with the actual clip distance.

DX7 as I'm running on a GF3 Ti 200 64MB, not much point in trying to run in DX9. :p

DX7 - GF4 Ti4800SE, Athlon 3000+ and 512 DDR RAM @ 400mHz (or might be 333 =/ )

Anyway, using DX7 cause I seem to get hit "less" by the memory leak, however I still shudder at pvp within the main city zones. Monk pa doesn't have a broken arm. And particularily, when i use DX7, on startup of neocron I can't login for a good 15 seconds or so, whereas in DX7 i can straight away, kinda annoying DX9 after crashes and such.

So only a few of us using DX7 mode for the short distance issue.

I was hoping that NC2 would have brought us extended distance with the DX9 tweaked engine, but it has in fact made it worse.

Hope it's fixed soon..

Mouselag? :O

I thought that was just me. So if I switch to DX7 it will go away?

DX9 on GeForce 4 Ti 4800.

DX7 has a load of.. things so I can't walk anywhere because I can't see it.

observe: (That's in TT HQ)

Yeah, DX7 removes the "rubberband".

I´m using a GeForce FX5200, and I´m using whatever mode is default, and I have had 0 bugs, 4 black screens and 1 runtime error so far.

Mouse lag and framerate issues can be improved by upgrading to your latest mouse drivers.

Helps for some and doesn't seem to hurt any so try it.

if i go for PVP it has to be DX7 as the load time is REALY small but the game looks poo and the "general FPS" is lower but PEEKS higher, if im just futtering around levling or the sutch i use DX9 as the FPS is generaly higer but will never go past 90 (unlike DX7 when it runs so fast it goes off the scale as the hard cap of the fps detector 333 fps)

ps Radeon 8500 64 meg
