Using one of these photos as a starting the aim is to make a picture or collage or whatever.

Ruley thingies

Okay - so you can bring in other images if you want to blend and stuff - but if you do - I want to see a moodboard to show that it's your work - for those who aren't sure - the moodboard will have to show:

The stock photo used
Any other images ( these can be scaled down to if need be)

Obviously - no yanking one off deviantart or wherever

That's about it really - just use your best judgement.

Heres what I've come up with so far - If you saw my last one - you'll remember the chip port, I'm gonna try an Eye implant this time round - hence the bruising.

Started to blend now - It's a little hard to work the implant onto the skin without meshing it in 3dsmax...

I love that Conte crayon/bas relief effect - it does wonders for skins - It looks almost clay-like. I ish feeling it dude.

I thought I'd try an advert kind of style - Not too sure about the screenies though - I used a full screen scaled down - I'm experimenting with partial screens now with closeups on monsters/characters - a female monk casting a spell - a DoY guard and either a wee crab ( :D ) or a grimmy

It's a technique I've picked up after about 4 years of experience. When I do things like this I "set the scene". I pick out the area to be modded, and add bruising first. Then, I add the implants, any implant would probably cause scarring - so I dd the scarring. The blend isn't really a blend - you're right it's digital painting.

It's just a case of working the skin over the edges, and scarring it up. I Did dull down the components with atouch of fading and blurring, but that's about it. I can't really explain how to do it really - It's just something that comes with practice. :(

I can see what you mean with your implants - It's hard to get them to blend, first of all, mask everything but the face with the quickmask option, and get rid - work on a black background - with just the material you want to edit, it makes things easier.

Try to paint a little flesh over onto the edges of the implants, in a non uniform way. Then use the smudge tool and drag outwards to give you a base for the scarring, from there it's all just basic colour theory and refference to actual pictures of bruising - because the implants are on a real photo - the challenge is making them blend in - a good way around if you have the skill - is to rebuild his skin.

Ooops - seem to have missed a bit on the right... Also - try putting the face on a mesh if you have max - and rendereing a jpeg of it, or try to 3d transform the Eyepiece - because it looks flat or at the wrong angle - his face is pointed left of canera - but the implant is directly ahead, which is why it looks a bit squiffy. or mirrior the eye and put it on the orange eye - and stick the orange Iris on the other one...

edit... blacking out the window takes away from the whole"mirror reflection of the man i used to be" idea,,,i didnt try to take out the background, i am talking about blending the imps to look as if they are part of the o.g. pic.
there are a ton ways to remove the "target" from the background, but it does get difficult when hair is involved

Need a suitably techy body - I'm going for a close up on a wasp/horent thorax, and I'm going to graft metal plates to the segments of the body.

Anyhow - 2 things - Not sure how they look. Had this cool Idea of going totally adverty and plugging hacknet - couldn't find a pic with the crolling background - so nabbed a matrix replica pic - Might change it's colour - but it looks good as it is.

for those 2 pics, I used Garamond font with a character spacing of 500. For the effect, make the layer Linear Dodge, double it, and apply a motion blur of around 6 at a 90 degree angle to the new layer. double the new layer to fit your tastes.

Touches include a green metallic on the eyepieces, stupidly bright hair, and a glowing N. Various "fine print" Blur jobs ( you lot might not cath imperfections but I can't help but notice them! I hat showing my work because as soon as it goes up, I notice 100 things wrong with it!)
