A file checksum.

Basically, it allows you to verify whether the file you have actually is the file proposed (check for corruption, completness, ...).

Why aren't you using BitTorrent ? It is fast, easy and far more suited to the job than http or ftp.

all the other dl's are slow as hell

torrent is ok of ppl keeps seeding. But the community of NC, don't know what that means so BT is fucked.
