NC1 still on?

Just curious, I just logged into Saturn....
How the hell did that happen if the servers are down?
Even more fun is, I tell you afterwards, that I haven't payed for NC since July.. o_O

They never took the servers down, they only did a quick database dump for the transfer snapshot and then kept the servers rolling. They won't be taken down until the day they establish a Neocron Classic server...

...which as far as I know is taken from the same snapshot they already did. So I believe you can continue to play NC1 (as long as you didn't cancel, in hopes of upgrading as I did) but any thing you do between the time of the Sept 29th snapshot and the NC Classic release will be lost once you transfer to NC Classic.
