Well why not? It'll make for a humongous playerbase - I mean look at what happened to SW:G just because of the Star Wars logo branded on it!
Hell KK, you have this awesome backstory, which I reread over and over again, and it would make an absolutely incredible movie! Hey, you could even hold competitions to get some runner's names into the film! Imagine if you had Bruce Willis playing a beefy, roughed-up Gen-Tank named Ezza or Halle Berry as a suave sexy spy by the name of Rena Chan.
You could even get Paris Hilton to be one of the PP dancers :p
So yay or nay on 100 minutes of Neocron joy? Not only would it be one hell of a movie, it would also be promoting the game and allowing us to get all that crappy merchandise we wanted at the same time! Action figures, with projectile-firing Cursed Soul!

As a General rule, films that are based on games crash and burn, i.e. Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Super Mario Brothers, whilst conversly games based on films tend to suck, Cat Woman being the latest installation.
Maybe I'm being unfair on res evil, as that was based on a film genre, which then got made into a film, but still, games + moves dont mix :p

Thats the thing though, Neocron isn't a massively well known game compared to those you pointed out. Plus I think Neocron's back story is way better, and any competent script writer could bash out a decent script just based on that.

@lexx yea thats true most of the game movies suck, oltho i do like resident evil very much, so i think nc could have a chance, but only thing that kk never gonna find funding for this, and i doubt anyone will want to sponsor them ...

Well, AFAIK, KK don't need to do anything except give their permission for the movie to be made. All that needs to happen is a decent script to be written and for it to get picked up by some big production company in Hollywood :p

It would need to be the "best movie ever" though, as a cyberpunk type of movie it would be compared with the likes of "Blade Runner" as a cyberpunk film, also the critics would point out that it is based on a game.

would this movie have the pepper park strippers? and black lilly the hooker askin if you want a good time? I'm sure Neocron the Porn Movie would sell quite well ;)
This would never work... the warhammer movie never worked out, and the playerbase for 40k is like... 10000 times greater than that of NC, the storyline is far, far better, the world is far more detailed and intricate... etc.
Paris Hilton as a stripper? Why don't you just dress up a broom lingerie... no one will notice the difference.

i've actually toyed around with that idea in my head on a number of different occasions. thinking, do with a neocron movie to neocron what tron 2.0 did for tron. don't try to take the original storyline and put it in a movie, but rather expand on it. heck go a century in the future of neocron.
ps i want chuck norris to play the melee tank. jackie chan will be the bumbling doy bomber pilot.
I think that any movie that is highly original should have actors that don't already have their name plastered over billboards everywhere. That way people will be able to appreciate the characters more, and not be blinded by the famous face before them (i.e. they'll never truly believe that a character is say... Ceres if they were just reading about his sexual habits 10 minutes before they saw the movie). For instance, LOTR did this brilliantly, no huge names in any of the main roles.

um i think everyone recognizes the name Elijah Wood. And Ian Mckellen is a hugely popular stage performer. Plus, we have Agent Smith residing in Rivendale. Also, one could argue Liv Tyler, but being as in the book the role of Arwen is practicaly non-existant, I don't think she counts tbh.

i was watching some dumb ass anime/comuteranimation thing on cartoon network the other day that seemed to be loosely based on teh matrix.....only alot more carebear
and i was like O.o someone should make NC anime series 30 mins of goodness per episode
no centeral characters just a centeral world...each episode would have totally new chars
Me and frosty started on a 3d neocron movie a long time ago, We got as far as remodeling plaza1,TG,copbots,Drones and other sexy things. It was never finished because we lost interest.
If you really want I could look for some of the screens from the flick.
yea GOD i would like to see them.....makin a 3d video or wuteva the hell it was u were tryin to make actually sounds badass...sux that u lost interest I would have loved to see how it woulda came out :(

Elijah Wood did like... Flipper before LOTR... that's all I can think of at least.
Mckellen, being primarily a Shakespearean actor... which isn't exactly main stream, so he isn't in the 'public' eye so too speak. Liv Tyler's part was very major... and, like you said, it wasn't true to the book putting her in even that much. Can you tell me the name of the guy who played Agent Smith? He probably got the part around the same time as he did the Matrix as well.

Surely when watching a Neocron movie the reel would keep breaking off leaving the viewers with a black screen, and they'd have to keep rewinding you back to the beginning of the film? Plus not very many people would know it existed, and those that did would keep watching it but post flame after flame on the internet about it ;)
There would be rumours of a digitally remastered version. However, it wouldn't be released until two years later, on VCR cassette! It would cause said VCR to spontaneously combust.
Yay.
I dont think KK could afford Mr. Willis, though :p
