View Full Version : After 2 Hours of playing Neocron

So far i didn't had a single FRE :).

But i had neocron using 176mb of my Memory
thats kinda ok, but:

It used 1,9 Gigabite of my virtual memory and 1,2 Gigabyte swap file.
Thats kinda to much at that state my Sound fucked up and got really weird, and my nc gots kinda slow, i had to restart my computer to fix the sound problem.

Anyone experience same problems ?

one free during that same time...

had to restart nc2 once...

but its better than before.. im getting way more fps now than before....
nc1 10-111 fps
nc2 30-250 fps

on the down side nc2 gives me some wierd 1 second freezes atm times

i get about same FPS as NC1, less crashes but at least NC1 was more playable, im getting those little freezes sept some of them are more than 1 second.

fighting a crahn monk, got a 5 second freeze, dont ask me how but somehow managed to down him despite that.

its annoying tho overall every time i zone its like my system is chugging along.

never really had any probs like that with NC1

im giving it a bit of time, but its basically ruining the enjoyment of playing :(

the only thing ruining gameplay is the horrid memory leakage. Other then that, things would be working great.

Sometimes in NC1 I got a sound slowing down bug, everything would sound like it was in slow motion. It happened for a second on NC2 but didn't hang around like it used to, still wondering if it'll happen again though.

lol. within the city, i get between hmmmmm about 150 - 500 fps. out of the city, about 90-250 ish. difference for me between NC1 and NC2, is i couldnt hit 500fps in NC1 lol :P

Setup: AMD-64 3.4GHz / 1Gb Corsair RAM / Radeon 9800XT / 200Gb Seagate Barracuda / and a shite monitor :(

Ahhh I need more ram mines a AThlon Barton Core processer doing I think at 2.4ghz but only 512mb of ram (Win98se only supports this amount) Geforce 4 Ti 4200 128mb card and a adequate monitor. oh and an 80 gb harddrive. Waiting on a new 240+gb harddrive then I'll be upgrading to WinXP and more memory.

my nc2 performance in compare to nc1 is much worser.

basically
i crash 2x more than in nc1
i sync 3x more than in nc1
my fps in nc1 were around 50-70 all the time (~30 in op wars with force fog off), and in nc2 my fps are jumping from 1 to 50 all the time, average fps in p1 is 10-15

but it all may be caused by this awful memory leak i'm experiencing - 1gb ram + 2 gb swap file are enough for like 5-15 mins of playin...
