Ok, way back in the day, the citycom was divided into 3 portions: Hometerm, lawterm, and jobterm. At some point they were merged because seperately, they really would see little use. And kk though that being so far in the future technology would allow them to combine all usefullness into one term (dont ask me why i remember this, lol)

Anyway, now that the city is not a safe zone, lawterms would have a TRUE purpose now. Right now, city guards are very weak. Saw a ppu rez a spy while underfire from 2 city guards consistently (not copbots). That was just sad. Now, either up the firepower on screaming horse guardsso that a ppu cannot survive against constant attacks from 2 guards (I could understand MAYBe surviving one guard, but 2?)

Reintroduce lawnet. We never knew the official purpose of it, but heres my idea. Dunno how feasible it is, might require a extra bit of coding.

Now, say that your in pp2, and some th burst in and start killing teh city folk. You say "OMG OMG TG!" and run to your faction hq. Inside the faction hq is a lawterm. You can report the areas that are being attaked in it. This increases the rate of copbot patrols in the said area (although slightly). Leave damage as it is. It shouldnt be impossible to raid city, just a bit more difficult.

If the above option is not possible for one reason or another, how about the ability to just talk to a copbot and let him know theres an enemy in the area. This would activate a patrol algorithm. I think this would be a bit easier to implement.

My goal is not to make the odds stacked against raiders, i do like pvp within city limits. It should just be more of a challenge. Of course the dome should get the same type of enhancments as not to be uneven security.

Should work in both cities.

Or how about you weakling citizens start doing some workl and protect your own city?

Why should raids be made impossible through the use of NPCs? If you want to make raids on your city impossible, use the power of the vats number of runners around you.

This is an MMORPG. Start playing your role!

I just SAID it was not meant to be impossible. Jesus christ lose the "omg i like keeling!!" attitude for just one second and try to be constructive.

Does it not make sense for a guard to be standing right around the corner from a fight and do nothing? no! This is just meant to take up some of the faults with the AI. Obviously you like shooting people from around corners so guards wont see you from the way you responded.

It makes perfect sense to me that citys such as neocron and doy would have integrated security systems that runners could interact with, which would help make the game mor eimmersive in the end.

Look, im not looking for a flame war here, just please try to to jump on the "OMG YOU SUX!" bandwagon. If you dont like it, just say why and lets try to keep the bashing down.

agrees... raiding cities should not be PvM

Or how about some leverage on the field?

An anti city runner (without stealth mind you) can just walk through the closest NC wastelands sectors, stroll past the STORMs, go to the subway and then take a stroll in plaza.

Try doing that as a city runner by going to DoY.

If it was even, I would not mind at all. But now it's just unfair to be honest.

There's those switches on the walls all over neocron. Why not make it so that when you hit one of those, the CopBots run to your location.

Only Pro-city can activate them.

Or a "I'm a trader/politician/businessman/non-experienced fighter, I'm under attack, call the police" button. Remember this isn't just a PvP game. As someone who doesn't specialise in combat (like many others), I want to feel safe within the walls of Neocron. I want to be able to duck behind Reza's finest, and have them absorb the plasma, rather than having it rip me to shreds. I think city raids should be immensely difficult, and should involve a load of guards. Of course, sneaky assassinations should still be possible, but not full-blown warfare.

Make it that you have to buy your guards and/or you have to move guards away from another area.

Make the option only possible by Council members of your faction, and faction guards can't leave owned areas (eg. TT stay in VR area).

Other then that, the lawnet being part of hacknet you can break in (fight) to get locational details of person wanted by your faction.

Why not report in this Lawterm what sector the pkers were last seen and what faction they were and then NC plays a custom message just like the fake ones we hear all the time.

"Hostile runners Have entered the city in Plaza 2 sector, Any available runners please assist" or whatever.

so it doesn't effect the npcs (or maybe make em start randomly runnin about if you want but personally I wouldnt) But a message would inform Pro city or Anti city players so they could help stop the raid.

This way if your high level you can run your ass to whatever sec it is or if your low level and standing in plaza 2 or whatever sector then you can quickly exit since youve been warned that theres pkers in the sector.

To the contrary I believe this is very much a PvP orientated game.
- The whole premise of the game is the war between the cities.
- You can attack anyone, almost anywhere, anytime - no need for both players to consent like in SWG.
- The main items of the game are weapons, armor, and implants that improve combat skills.
- Half the vehicles are combat vehicles.
- Storylines are very much PvP orientated - you must kill to compelte epics, storylines concentrate on fighting between cities and factions. Often storylines are designed to provoke one faction into attacking another.

The traders are just a means of getting better weapons. Yes, there's also a lot of roleplay elements to the game, but the role you play is that of someone in a world ravaged by war. Particularly if you live in DoY, there's no escaping the war, the evidence is all around you on a day-to-day basis.

You'd have to select from a list, not type it. Parsing retards spelling is supprisingly hard.

That's an interesting idea. You'd have to remove some of the current auto-played messages to make it work IMO, but I think it would work.
