Winamp is just about the best stuff you can get so...

look for one called STP... it runs purely in the task bar and uses key binds to control it, plus it works very well when games are running.

Winamp 2.5 from www.oldversion.com
It opens the second you click the shortcut. No bullshit fancy crap that makes the latest versions slow.
Winamp 2 for Windows, XMMS for Linux
I've tried a number of other solutions on Windows, but nothing just works like Winamp 2 does. It's playlist system is simple (and as a double plus, compatible with XMMS) and it's fast.

Havn't tried it, but there's been alot of hype about "foobar2000" recently, google it!
you ppl can't beat www.winamp.com
Winamp whip the Llama's ass
foobar is a really good program, easy to use and doesnt hog system resources ;)
indeed, foobar is the best thing you can get (imo at least)
Windows Media Player :D Its the only thing I use, cept in Linux then its XMMS, but I prefer Windows Media Player :D

musicmatch jukebox
sure it costs money, but it does everything you'll need to do with your music, it's laid out well, it's aesthetically pleasing, it runs well...
