First of all, I am sorry that it took so long till this Neocronicle was finished, but if you start reading it, you will probably notice why ;)
The final event we wanted to do on the NC1 retail server was not possible due to the changed server downtimes. So all that is left from it right now, is the article in the Neocronicle. But we are thinking about a way to bring that event to you a later time.
Special thanks to Tabhita Pattern, Pestilence, Walter Sublett, Vincent Starck, Colette Lamour, Henry Dorsett, Teresa Gomez and Noriko Kawamura for wrting additional articles, translating and proofreading!
Enjoy reading!

Neocronicle Special V3
Victory – About the destruction of the Dome
People thought they would have already won already when they had the blueprints, but everything happened differently than expected. “First the disaster with the fight about the blueprints and now this!”, cursed some employees of CityAdmin. What had happened?
The blueprints which were talked about in long meetings with a group of Fallen Angels did not contain the needed plans for the bomb from the Dome. What they consisted of will not be made known to the public, but even if the betrayal of the Fallen Angels is deep (read the articles below) there was barely time for hard feelings.
The reasons were recently given by Art Jepherson in a press conference: “We had just found out that the blueprints we had were not usable for the construction of our own bomb, when one of our spies brought us news about the Dome skipping their test phase and preparing to launch their bomb.”
On question of what's going to happen, they told us an immediate meeting was happening in which ideas were developed to use the launch codes and remote ignition protocols. In a hurry it was investigated wether the plan was at all possible.
Unfortunately, one conclusion of this investigation was that the shield improvement turned out to be a barrier: “The shield improvements made it impossible to send a radio signal, as it is used for the bomb out of our city.”, explained one of the scientist advisors of the City Council. In order to launch the bomb anyway CityAdmin gathered all forces they could and told them they should hack all Uplinks for the CityAdmin to gather the transmission power of all the Uplinks, so it should be possible to get into the communication network of the Dome of York and thus allow a remote launch of the bomb.
And so it happened: Shortly after the last hard defended Uplink was hacked, the launch codes for the bomb were being put into the network of the Dome from the CityAdmin Headquarter. The following detonation could be felt from far in the wastelands.
As if they’d been awakened by the detonation the Fallen Angels, Twilight Guardians, Black Dragons, Tsunamis and Crahns came out of their holes which lead from the tunnels dug by the Dome.
In belief the Dome had been totally destroyed our forces let the gathered enemies of our city stay in front of the gates of their now defeated ally. What were they supposed to do now anyway, other than realise that every resistance is futile now?
While our forces were celebrating our victory – surely, the people in the city did that as well, we had to fight with our problems here in the city. The bundling of all Uplinks lead in our database to a sort of feedback effect which caused fatal damages in a huge part of our network. So the entire GenRep data was lost and all files in the CityCom-Network too. A recovery of the lost files was unfortunately not possible, but the representatives of the operator companies assured us, that in the future everything will work properly again. GenRep data can now be obtained again to increase your own life expectancy.
The new Neocron City Government
As already noticed the structure of the City government underwent many changes after the Dome War. To improve upon the excessively bureaucratic way of leading the city, our President and the City Council have decided to change the ranks in the city government. The newly created City Governor ranks with very high responsibility and rights have now been introduced and the current City Governors will be Susan Swift and Henry Dorsett. Our leader Mr. Lioon Reza will make the big strategic decisions with the City Council and the Governors will lead the city and act on these decisions.
Mr. Henry Dorsett is already known as a NExT official and was only too glad to take this new post. Ms. Susan Swift was a high-ranking diplomat during the recent talks with the Fallen Angels and has proven to have a great deal of experience. She has already appeared in the media in the last few days. The new aim for Neocron is to get rid of the criminal elements in all districts, especially in Pepper Park and the Outzone sectors.
Since the end of the war, the demand for goods of all kinds has increased dramatically and new technologies like hover heavy-lifting are now being deployed. The production capacities of the Industrial Zones have been raised by reactivating and renovating the old, unused industrial complexes. New companies were allowed to get investors through the Stock-X system. Additionally private security companies have now been contracted by for the NCPD, including bounty hunters who are now informed about new and existing criminals by the NCPD via the Citycom system.

Betrayal by the Fallen Angels
Information received from one of our field reporters close to the heart of the City government has reported a nasty turn of events; the blueprints for the Dome of York Bomb were fake. A contact inside the CityMercs information bureau has told us that the blueprints are in fact highly encrypted garbage, and refer to a hidden message for someone called the "Black Scorpion".
Susan Swift the City Governor, was unavailable for comment, but a lower member of the City was reported to have said "Reza damn those Angels, they are so untrustworthy and underhanded, given half a chance they would steal the teeth from a dead man". Further statements were muffled when a CopBot appeared and "escorted" the underling away with the usual dead pan "nothing to see here citizen, on your way now before you have an accident".
Investigations continue into the whereabouts of those Fallen Angels responsible for bringing the Data Cube to the City, but we don’t think they will be found very easily. NCPD released the following statement "We of the NCPD are very concerned for the safety of the Fallen Angel runners who were in our protective custody. They recently dismissed their bodyguards and have not been seen since. We would like to offer 50,000 credits for any information leading to the successful location of these runners".
Further speculation about the data cube and the so called “friendly” Fallen Angels started after reports were received of various database violations throughout the city, companies and faction offices; all have noted firewall breaches and IP security protocols going missing, "This is a worrying state of affairs, lots of sensitive information could potentially go missing" a security expert for the City said. These attacks had increased in severity in the past few weeks and have only seemed to stop since the Fallen Angels went missing.
We will continue to monitor this alarming turn of events and report back any information we receive.
Future of TechHaven
„Even if the blueprints of the Fallen Angels turn out to be fakes, we will still continue with our plans, to enforce the reorganization of TechHaven“, says Susan Swift in a short statement about the Fallen Angels, shortly after the betrayal became known.
Exactly what the transformation and free trade zones are was also announced. Constructers, researchers and traders of all factions shall find a place here where they may trade in peace. CityAdmin only ensures assistance with this change if they can guarantee none of their own technologies will find it's way to the enemy's hands. They intend to do this by placing some of their own security there.
But this is exactly the issue that has stirred-up resistance from the „free traders“, who protest through anonymous announcements that they themselves were betrayed by their friends in Tech Haven and didn't know about the false information in the Data Discs. The free traders insist on staying independent, and are considering hiring the CityMercs in addition to their own reprogrammed security bots.
„However“, says one of the announcements, „the differences in internal opinion have caused the part of the Fallen Angels, who together with the Twilight Guardian have turned against both cities, have left for the Dome alongside the rebels to recover fragments of the technological achievements of the Dome.“
This project clearly shows the insanity of these researchers: Voluntarily going into a completely irradiated and contaminated city, only to examine destroyed machinery!
The final event we wanted to do on the NC1 retail server was not possible due to the changed server downtimes. So all that is left from it right now, is the article in the Neocronicle. But we are thinking about a way to bring that event to you a later time.
