Ok, I got a GMail account (cheers Richard <3) and today my ISP upgraded its webmail service, so I decided to compare my new GMail's looks with my new ISP based webmail. Which look do you prefer...

Anyhow, comparing the two..

Anti Virus. Gmail = Block exe files totally. Mymail = Block all email viruses
Max inbox size. Gmail = 1,000MB. Mymail = Unlimited
SPAM. Gmail = Spam protection. Mymail = [-SPAM-] added to email
Max email addresses. Gmail = 1? Mymail = Unlimited (anything@dgwebb....)
POP3 Access. Gmail = Nope? Mymail = Damn straight
IMAP. Gmail = Nope? Mymail = Damn straight * 2
Ability to run own email server? Gmail = No. Mymail = Yeah man.

Still, I can finally blackhole my dgwebb email addy and use GMail for sites and stuff, to prevent spam in my inbox :D

If it's from your ISP I would damn well hope you get all that included in your service provision.

GMail OTOH is only meant to be a free webmail service and it is very very good at being just that.
