Ok, this was an idea that I had a few days ago.
Unfortunatly it would remove the stockX in all likelyhood.

Remove player access to money.

Let me explain.
Items still have thier nc value, but you cannot see it in the trade windows, same with sold items.
You would require enough items selected (implement multiple selection) in the 'sell' window to reach the amount that would allow you to trade for the item you want.

This would remove the whole over abundance of cash that plagues NC and create a purely item based barter system.
The sale value of a lot of stuff (especially weapons) would have to increase of course.

There obviously would be problems, GRs, NPC bribes/payment etc. but it's the concept.
