ScummVM? That's an emulator for Scumm engine games, like Monkey Island and Day of the Tentacle. Unless you're playing one of those games, nothing to see here ;)

I recommend DOSBox (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/news.php?show_news=1) for general DOS gaming. A couple of games don't work with it, but it's as good as they get. I just bought Cannon Fodder last week for twenty pence, so I'm enjoying the hell out of that right now. God bless server downtime!

i have found compatibilty mode doesnt play all the dos games,as some link to ini files ,which in xp are now ntfs files,major screwy

i did it the easy way,got my brothers old p200 just for playing ufo-enemy unknown ,done a lot of retro gaming,aslso the graphics look cack on a 17" monitor when in 320* 200 res so a nice 14" makes em playable

hit up the might google for some research, if the game has a prob with compatibilty mode im sure people have made unofficial work arounds.

cd = (no idea what it stands for but it means enter)
cd.. = (no idea what it stands for but it means go up one level)
rd = remove directory
del = delete
*.* = targets all prefixes and all suffixes
md = make directory
filename = run
edit = edit

and so on and so forth..

You need to mount a directory to a drive letter. Type mount for instructions. It's something like mount c:\dosgames c: and then u can access the files.

XP isnt stuck on the restrictions that DOS has on filenames.

For My Documents you would type cd docume~1 then cd name (if name is over 8 chars, put in the first 6 followed by ~1

and there ya go
