View Full Version : [CbT] NC-Setup Version 2 (beta) released
Hello,
i finished today a first beta-version of my NC-Setup tool (version 2).
Feature list:
configure generally settings: resolution (window mode, too), gamma, mouse, intro/extro splash's, bobbing
RPOS color settings with preview (early version uses only retangles.. looks a little bit crazy ;))
sound & music settings, include a little manager to add your own MP3-files
easy SMS text Editor
handler for console.log files
This version 2 is not for Neocron-1, but should work, too (use it at your own risk!).
1.To install the program, simply copy it to your Neocron-folder.
2. ini\Control.ini is write-protected (used for bobbing and default-color)... NC-Setup will not change this state. If you want to save this two settings, remove write-protection manually.
Remember, it is a first BETA-Version. (http://d.metzinger.bei.t-online.de/nc/tools/NCSetup.zip)
I use Delphi-5 and some FX, file size raised to 450 KB. If you dont like it, vote for a simple design ;)
nice tool :)
design needs a little work, but I prefere this over a simple design.
wow sounds cool Ill have to give it a shot :)
[edit] u might get in a lil trouble with KK for the gamma over ride slider :P

cool m8, i appreciate !
btw, what is that "char bobbing" funiktion on the first screen ?
i have the problem that on char-selection screen the chars are (with their bodys) covering their names and all other infos about them. is that option to fix that? didnt do in my case ...

Character bob is that screen shake that causes your screen to waggle from side to side as you walk or run in NC. Turning it off stops that.
Nice work - Neocron has needed a GUI for changing the user customisable .ini elements for ages.
5 star :D
One small note ... you seem to be assuming only `normal` 96dpi for the scaling of the fonts and text areas, rather than using whatever value the win32 API supplies.
(screenshot attached)
I checked with Iorghe about this and Beliar checked with Carnage.
As this utility only modifies "ini" files that are user modifiable anyway it is allowed.
Satty, Iorghe has requested a name change for your utility. Please rename it to:
"NC2-Settings Tool v2.0b" (b for beta)

at weekend I make some fixes:
- renamed to "NC2-Settings Tool v2.0b" ;)
- Update to RPOSCOLOR.INI v2.2
- fix the size mismatch if using other Monitor-Resolutions than 96dpi
- ignore control.ini if write protected (atm you got a error-message)
I downloaded to test it out, but the programed fre'ed; every time I ran it :(

Wouldn't be a true Neocron program unless it FRE'd now would it ;) .

what windows system do u use? I can test it only at W2k and XPprof, perhaps there is a problem with win95/98/me and transparent form.
make a link and try a start with "ncsetup.exe debug"
Im on XP corp (pretty much the same as pro?)
I will try it again in a bit with debug
Can a mod please close this Thread? I also ask to close the german thread (there).
I will open a new (multilingual) Thread for the Tool on Sunday in the OPEN BETA Forum, when the Tool is finished for RPOSCOLOR v2.21.
I think, it's a Tool for NC-2 and atm there is the place to talk about it.
link down ? :|
Search Forum for "NC2 Settings Tool", you will find a link ;)
