Ok, I was bored and I thought I'd post some of the stuff I've painted in the past. So here is a random select of my stuff. Note that the models aren't varnished, they just look like it because of the direct light. For the same reason, the skin looks a little orangey. Hey ho, its not my digital camera anyway :)

aww kharn and abbadon are two of my favourite gw models :/ but the conversions are awesome, I never convert my models though becuase I only buy models I like! which is why i collect beil-tan now the models are sexy as hell!
I'll post some pics on monday when my cam is fixed, good stuff tho!

impressive, i never spent a huge amount of cash on any of my armies, i usually played games of 2000 points with space wolves and my eldar although i still have around a 2500-3000 point total eldar army and maybe 2000-2500 point space wolves.
Only got to about 1500-2000 points with my khrone berzerker army in rhinos with demon support.
Can't wait to post piccies now :D i might take some with my sisters cam phone if i can steal it off her *goes in sneaky mode*
Sorry, I'd take pictures but I moved up to college and didn't take my stuff. Ah well, maybe later. Nice painting both of you!
Pretty much the only Warhammer 40,000 army I have is just one tactical squad and at the moment I just have them built and primed black.
Here's some more I took tonight. I took a bunch of individual, smaller characters, but I apparently can't work this new digicam yet and they're all blurry. This big stuff came out all right though.

its horrible, you see them around this giant green fured table with polystyrene buildings n shit, painting these little plastic models with small pots of paint, then theres some playing the game, and one of the staff at the shop playing is like 'WOW I SCORED A 4 AND THE ORC SLASHES THE SWORD INTO THE TRYTHERAPUTABADOODLE WARRIOR MASTER DOING 13 POINTS OF DAMAGE *makes horrible death noise*'

On the subject of nerds and geeks - I seem to remember you lot taking an almost fanatical stand on something called parashock, - which is fictional, just like the fire and ice immunity crap in d+d... I also see you playing an MMORPG, Getting practically Murderous when conflicting opinions about (gasp) A GAME show up...

guys. nice chaos models. i loved them. most of hives stuff is 2nd ed 40k isnt it. kharn etc. ahriman was still the main man for the chaos armies. i loved his story it set a dark picture.

WH40K is actually pretty complicated, there are a lot of rules and most things are variable so the game is almost never the same.

Games workshop is an incredibly deep, complex, and tacticful game.
Painting is a side of it, but its the wars which are the clincher.

Here is a pic or two of my commander Gibsnag.
The paint job is pretty bad, but I'm relatively proud of the conversion and general Orkyness. Note the two snotlings on his banner (counts as a bionic arm, extra attack), and the size of the ork on his shoulders.

I have some of the models, don't play atm due to money restraints, but I also have a social life. I think that its a little unfair to sterotype people in such a way.

A hobby is a hobby.
The pictures I've seen so far shows devotion and talent.
If I meet someone who paints minis in an extraordinary way I respect him/her equally much as I would a person who has climbed the everest.
It's about being good and devoted to what you do. Put the everest climber to paint a mini and it would probably end up like a turd.
Finding something that you are good at to pursue as a hobby is something that I wish more people had the luxury to.
Doesn't matter how small or trivial (in other's eyes) the hobby is, it's still a hobby. What hobbyists can show for is in any case very valuable.
I used to play about a year and half ago, but the prices went up and my money went down so i stopped...
some of the models here are great...shame i havent got a digi cam anymore since i sorta disintegrated (erm...sp?) mine, i got some nice conversion (or so i like to think :p)

Here are pics of my painted Tau minis. A fire warrior squad, some kroot and 3 battlesuits. The final pic is my whole army minus a gundrone, my ethereal and a crisis suit :) Mind you that the kroot and warrior squads took me like 4 hours each to paint.

Anyway, some fucking good paintjobs there Hive, real nice work. I could never paint for shit really, I did ok on Skeletons and turned out a few Undead characters but other than that. Space Marines weren't too bad either, all block colour power armour with highlights so it was ok for a time.
Don't play anymore, gave it up about hmmm 5 years ago when my brother moved out, we used to play alot. Was fucking cool, really enjoyed it. Never labelled as a nerd either, went out got pissed, got fucked, found girlfriends etc, went to gym, usual stuff. Just cos people play tabletop games don't mean they can't do anything else.

ok i never really did armies i just painted single minis, i did have armies tho to a gaming standard but rarely played so they just sit in cases. heres some of my better minis. The hawks were for my eldar army, actually managed to paint 2k points of troops 8|

I always used to be good at painting Orks/Goblins, only because someone at the shop told me how to do it properly using washes etc.
I've got a fair bit of interest in the game especially after playing Dawn of War, however there is such a massive social stigma attached to it where i come from i'd probably lose all my mates if i even went in the shop!

the hawks bases are piss easy, its sand, then painted scorched brown, dry brushed with bone then static grassed, then drybrush the grass with bleached bone after takes like 2 mins per base.
Inks are evil, i stay away from them as much as possible and only really use them when i want a satin or glossy finish.

How the hell do you paint skin like that? I cant do it to save my life i usually paint the face with white then use a brown ink then do the detail and touch it up with high lighting, end result they look a bit shit....

bestial brown base, blended up with dwarf flesh then mixed with elf flesh for highlights.
Nice job on the painting. There's some very nice work here.

I also hate inks (never managed to use em properly). Drybrushing is teh win. I managed to paint 12 kroot in less that 4 hours with them actually looking good on the battlefield by using extensive drybrushing.

i will cut out flaming and whatever, i dont wish to asume people are in such groups when they play the game, i dont believe that, but what i dont like is people becoming so defensive when its only my opinion, dont bother argueing with me when its my opinion and you dont like it, and im only talking about certain types of people who play the game (the ones who take it to seriously) and im often inclined to use phrases and terms which i dont mean anyways.

i didnt call anyone a nerd and if you read it properly i only directed it at people who took it to seriously like in the GW places who shout and scream when they throw a pair of dice, literally. and i am inclined to as i said say things i dont mean, because if i didnt i would have nothing to argue with because people argued against me when they didnt properly understand what i meant.

i didnt call anyone a nerd and if you read it properly i only directed it at people who took it to seriously like in the GW places who shout and scream when they throw a pair of dice, literally.

i only said remove holy para because it was an excuse to make a stupid sig :p i dont really give a shit when its removed or not.
when i pvp in neocron i do like to get into PVP but i dont take it as far as to emotionally get involved, i do give a shit when i win or loose but being killed doesnt bother me, i often punch pp guards until i die, i even made a GIF on it :p its just a laff then i move on.
