I agree with Ezza, although entertaining for current players, it wouldn't serve as a decent catalyst for recruiting and retention. There are much prettier player models out in other games, there are much prettier women in the real world. The true selling point for Neocron is it's playstyle, not it's content. If it was the other way around, events of old would've been more than a simple "SPAWNING X AT LOCATION Y, ANNOUNCE: 'OH NO, X HAS APPEARED AT Y'".
Quite honestly, I wouldn't feel clean playing alongside a dude who found out about the game and joined based on porn... That's just kind of... Disturbing.

Now for computer games like NC, which are by definition a niche market, the same thing may not apply, because I'd give 10 to 1 odds the 'family values' fundie types aren't playing NC anyway, but the study says that other advertising is more effective.
2: I've tended to notice that the more a game puts girls with big, um... polygons, on the cover and in the promo material, the shittier it tends to be. What impresses people about a game more is good shots showing off gameplay, the GUI, cool concept art, ect.
A shot of the concept art for a gimmy would excite me for the game more than a picture of a naked/scantily clad woman/man. Becuase the naked girls are just window dressing, the grimmy is something I'll be playing with far more often (at least until the strippers give good XP and rareparts :p)
You still need some kind of gimmick to draw people in in the first place, be it sex, violence or whatever. Advertising Neocron as "A game with shooting and leveling and OPs and stuff" won't draw many people in as they are more likely going to look at the higher profile games (thats if they can be drawn into the whole pay per month to play type of game).
As others have said, Neocrons biggest gimmick is the uncensored adult content (not just the sex) that you wouldn't find in a million years comming from the likes of SOE or whoever. The "not for kids" aspects of the game does make Neocron stand out from the crowd (or it would if anyone knew what Neocron was).

the first time i played nc i thought the whole stripper thing was cool but i hated the game and it felt really slow, so i stopped. People are not gonna pay 10 dollars a month just to look at strippers do the same dance moves over and over again. As for the idea, it might be a good company made sort of sub official site. But would it add to the realism? After all its not in-game but it could have RP elements, like a TS porn site or somthing.
