Ok, so I thought, why not make the build-system a bit more interesting?
Weaponparts? What, they make weapons out of 10 different kinds of boxes now? We need barrels, hammers and triggers... fusion-inductors (whatever that is, sounds techy) :p
This is how I'd like it:
All parts, barrels and the likes, could be bought in stores, and you could fit different lengths of barrels on your guns (would of course show on your char, so you could have one of those long-barreled revolvers :D )
Rare-parts would be equippable on ANY weapon of that class, so if you want a totally custom weapon, you got it mister.
Anyway, the weapons/construction process needs more content.
Combine say, 2 parts at a time, so you get to go through a few processes to make a whole gun. When it's complete, it's got some generic name, and no slots. You then go to a researcher, who checks the gun out, and reveals the amount of slots, and the name of the gun.
Anyway, it's just a crude idea... :)
