Ok, say you make a site. Say you whant to host demos of games on this site. do you half to ask the company of the game wether you are allowed to host the demo of that game on your site? or can you jest stick it on there?

Unless it CLEARLY SAYS SO in the license agreement, you have to ask for permission.

to put a link to a demo from the official producer is ok, to host it yourself and distribute it professionally out of most companies you will need to ask permission.

by dutch law you are allowed to mirror all public downloadable files.
fre example..
neocron is a public download therefor i am allowed to mirror it..
a game you can only buy in stores is no public download, therefore i may not mirror it.
