hey, if anyone has a 6800 ultra yet, plz tell me how your performance goes. for every other game, except Neocron, my fps and picture quality has gone pretty well; however, Neocron performance has degraded.
here's the response i got from neocron's tech support:

Hi Trevor Kershaw,

You might want to drop some of the detail settings ingame to help improve this framerate. Neocron is a rather old engine so it doesn't take advatage of newer cards abilities. This is why older cards might do better than newer ones. Neocron 2 will be on the DirectX 9 API which will get framerates back to respectable ones on the newer cards.

Sorry for the framerate problems, but there is not much I can do about it at this time.

With kind regards,

I'm curious to see if anyone else has run into this. I almost feel like installing an earlier version of dx just to see what happens with neocron. D:

I wandered a bit in Plaza 2 near A&W and the subway. I'll try playing a bit more today (gotta prepare for the End of the World!). I was seeing 70 to 100 FPS at 1280x960@32bit with 4x FSAA, 16x Aniso, forced everything to HQ mode, vsync off. My 6800 GT is running at 400Mhz core, 1100Mhz mem.

6800 ultra everything maxxed and forced full AA and AF vsync off 1600x1200 full screen

never drops below 60 fps regardless of how many people or things are infront of me

remember its neocron we'r talking about..

don't just post your vid card settings.. we all know neocron makes your proc do overtime.. so running a 2 ghz or a 3 ghz proc WILL make a difference in fps..

anyway.. lets all hope that changes in NC2 and that my 6800 GT ( when it finaly gets here ) gets some work to do :p
