View Full Version : [OT] Forum Sig Question
Please hit this with a CbT when it'd answered :)
I think I've seen sigs with a picture and several lines of text to the right or left. In HTML it would be:
<img src="images/image.jpg" align="left" valign="top">Line<br>Line<br>Line
And that would be that... is there a way in vBulletin to add the 2-Slot server banner and put my existing sig to the right?
I keep getting:
http://www.mirror-shades.com/2slotsupport.jpg:: My Brainport Post Listing (http://www.synergyxr.net/fn-brainport.php) ::
:: nc.synergyxr.net: The Dynamic Neocron Resource Site (http://nc.synergyxr.net/) ::
:: SynergyXR: Pluto based since Feb '03 (http://www.synergyxr.net/) ::
.: Playing Exclusively on Pluto Since Sept '02 :.
.: FN the Pistol Spy :. .: FuckNut the APU :.
And tha'ts not quite what I want :wtf: Thanks in advance for clearing up my ignorance :)
Try using tables to align the content.
Have two columns, pic in left, sig in right.
And with tables, you can make it stretch the full width of the browser (width = 100%), and you can also halign and valign both cells so that it looks pretty decent.
Sorted.
Duh. Thought you were good with this t'internet thing, FN =P
Eddie
P.S. If I could be arsed I would show you how it's done.. but I can't. So there.
I am :p
But vBull is proprietary stuff I don't have the patience to learn every aspect of... I can use tables in my sig/posts? O_o

Well you posted HTML in your post above.. so I assumed you could?
I don't have a sig.. so I wouldn't know =P
And anyway.. when worse comes to worse, just GIF the whole damn thing!

I guess he cant cos he has multiple links :(
Omg Im changing mine to the one he made lol.

Ahh.. forgot about the linkages.
Hrm.. try one of them list elements in vbcode - maybe that's enough to make it treat the whole of your existing sig as one big element that can go after the img.
Eddie
the sig takes up one line of text, the first link is on the same line, and because the sig is higher then a normal line of text, it looks distorted, example
YOURSIGyour link :p
and unless text wrapping was removable you cant change that, unless you find a way to use tables.
I thought the same as Ascention, but he beat me :(

Print Screen, paste into image editor, crop out the lines of text you want and save that as a .jpg or .gif, and put the two images in your sig next to each other. :)

That's what I said :P
But he has links in each of the lines of his existing sig, so one image (hence, one link) won't do.
I still say try my list idea.
In fact.. I'm going to try it now.
Eddie
Ah, forgot about the links. Whoops. :p
Right.. it seems I can't put a list on the same line as an image (using vbCode - not HTML).
Conclusion: So I don't think it's possible?
Eddie
It isn't possible. Unless you do this:
Chop your signature in 2 or more different pics
-------------------------------
|---------Peace 1------------| Text line number 1
-------------------------------
|-------- Peace 2------------| Text line number 2

Was about to suggest that
if you cut your sig into however many lines of text you have, put the top one then the line of text, then the next part and line of text etc it should put it together then.
I doubt youll be able to get it looking right centerd, youll have to have it left aligned

That.. is an INGENIOUS idea!!
Let's just hope that vbcode doesn't add gaps between each "line".
Try it and find out :P
Eddie
Use the enhanced editor :p
User CP> Options (Scroll to the bottom)> Editor Type> Enhanced
Does all the nice stuff ^^
Just renember- don't use it with Mozilla and then edit it with Internet Explorer
