No it is indeed 2800 for the lowest AMD64 :p

Anyway jester your pc sucks ;) ...only messing its pretty good, just make sure thats a barton mobile 2500+ then you can overclock it ALOT! without it going dodgey. And get the 5900ULTRA unless you plan on changing it soon. The 5900XT is the lowest and slowest 5900 gfx card.

Endar - Sapphire x800pro. Owned  :p

Nein 3000 was lowest 64 bit atleast that came out here, got a 3200 myself...

flashed to 16 pipes ali? if not do so, massive improvement...

No way. I would but id rather sell this cheap to my bro and go buy myself a real card. 6800GT :p

You cant flash it either, it requires physical work on the card to enable the other 4 pipes and no mine isnt a new version of the x800pro that have only 12 pipes and 12 pipes enabled (i had mine for about 6 weeks now)

Alig: Why does everyone buy x800 or 6800 series? I mean, with 9800 you can play all new games without any problems if you have OK CPU and enough memory... :(

Because you dont drop to unplayable frame rates in doom3 (the first true next generation game) using a next generation graphics card. I like doom3 at 1280x1024 + high + 8xAF and ive only got a crappy 2600+ @ 2.2ghz with 1gb unbranded ddr400. I get 40 - 60 frames constantly except when VERY extensive lighting/shadowing occurs e.g a swizzly light spins around in a room and casts real time pixel perfect shadows on everything in the room but apart from them occasions the x800 and 6800's are the way to go. A 9800 cant run doom3 at close to them settings which is my point basically.

I was upgrading anyway and couldnt find a logical reason to upgrade to an old outdated line of graphics cards. Same for when i come to upgrade my cpu, it wont be to a 3200+xp..probably a 3000+ amd 64 and just overclock it to a 3800+ :)

the 2800 is the lowest 64, think its one of the new 939 pin ones. i know it exists as i saw it on a pre built system from somewhere. hmm maybe its only available to oems or something.

Anti-aliasing is hardly necessary in Doom3.

If I had to choose between no AA + $300 saved on card, or AA, ... hmm.

Aherm.... just checking prices....

GeCube ATI Radeon X800 pro - 295 quid
Sapphire ATI Radeon X800 pro - 319 quid
Asus ATI Radeon x800 pro - 309 quid
ATI Radeon X800 pro Power Colour - 332 quid.

Aaaand now to check 9800 pro prices....

Evesham Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB - 125 quid
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB (dont know manufacturer) - 128 quid
Sapphire Radeon 9800 Atlantis Pro 128mb "ultimate edition" - 165 quid

Now.... if you look at it this way.... omfg I have 300 quid to spend to buy new comptar what i buy? onoz omfg x800 pro 295 quid omfg expensav. This pidgeon-english-speaking bear then scrolls down X page, and sees a 9800 pro! He says.... ohwow i lark teh 9800 pro! IT IS LESS THAN HARF TEH PRICE OF TEH CHEAPARST X800 PRO!! i buy! So our big bear buys the unknown manufactureres card. 128 quid. Sooo hes left with 272 QUID... What can you do with 272 quid? Well....

You could buy (for 209 quid (cheaper than an X800, i may add ;))) 2x512MB sticks of Corsair TwinX RAM-thingy!!!

or

You could buy (for £168) an AMD 64bit 3200 CPU + cpu cooler...

or

Hell, I dont know what else you could buy!

Point is, you can either bankrupt yourself and end up with a (admittedly) great graphics card, or you can buy probably a damn good graphics card + a brand new AMD 64 3200 CPU, and still have 104 quid or whatever, left over! Hell, with 104 quid, you could buy 2 x 512MB sticks of DDR RAM!!! So, for the same money as the CHEAPEAST X800 PRO, you can get a great graphics card, one of the best damn CPUs availabl, and a gig of RAM.

Nuff said :p
