View Full Version : Nvidia 61.77 Forceware Drivers released
Another update, im going to see if they ironed out the texture mapping bug
http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winxp_2k_61.77
This is for Win2000 and WinXP ONLY
I'll report back on what i think of these.
Lets keep the flaming of drivers out of this thread k?
Nice one...will be good to see how these ones fare.
Good on ya for testing em!
:)
I'll test and report back too :p
Thx for posting this btw :)

fuck it. im gonna try and install these ones and see if my goddam game will work again.
No worky.
Installed, no visual on screen (Went to standby despite my revival attempts)
Did a F8 boot and went back to the old drivers, booted fine.
My advice: Wait till MS signs them :p
Not good news im afraid - they dont work with NC on my system

oh dear. send screens and dxdiag to KK.
EDIT: though average FPS is up. is it a fair trade off though?
EDIT2: Im switching to Omega Drivers - 56.72 for now until this is sorted. or KK fix it, this is the only game thats got this issue.
That includes Incubation, made for DX 6 O_o
Thats...not...good :p
Reinstalling the old ones here ^^
They work awsome for me :P
Dont see a diff in NC, but AO looks a bit better. Textures better, but slightly at the expence of some fps in wide open areas.
All in all decent. I have a gforce FX 5600 btw, not shure if that makes a diff.

looks like a problem with cards below FX's then - im on a MX 440

Hrm.. I'm on a GF2 GTS and I haven't seen anything (yet) - with the 61.76 set.
Eddie

Actually, a few mins ago I experienced the problems in the screenies above - and deduced that it might be related to me alt-tabbing a few minutes ago - so I alt-tabbed out and back in again - which seemed to fix it until I logged off over an hour later.
Is that so in your case?
Eddie
PS. Improvements can definitely be seen in farcry (and yes my card does run farcry quite well, for your information :P) - performance and image quality - which means I'll try and keep these drivers.
EDIT: Wrote cards instead of drivers.
i'll give it a try
some models also disappear if i alt-tab between logins (this has been an issue since i started playing though, and yes i have reported it)
Not that it matters much with NC. Works fine with on the 6800 Gt.
Pfft not long till my X800 :p
89% Performance increase over the 6800 :D

lol your wishing arent you :)
in all tests the x800 series looses out to the 6800 (with the acception of the gt which is the baby product)
toms hardware and anandtech both did comparisons and the x800 only squeesed infront of the 6800 in 1 test.
I would love to join this x800 vs 6800 discussion, but let's stay on-topic shall we? :)
i cant download them or test them yet on my 6800 ultra :)
but then i dont really need them as i get max fps in all games anyway :)
im using the last revision of the nvidia drivers and never touch the omega ones

silly morpheous.
also the 6800Gt is not the baby, your thinking of the 6800
i'll give it a try

I'm also on mx440 and experiencing the missing models after alt-tab too, tho I've never had this problem before last patch. Also never experienced the weird texture bugs.
