The main revenue is in the subscriptions.

The game they have is probably not patched, the person would have to download all the patches, get pissed off at patch 159 and then get into the game. For 3 quid that won't be much hassle.

Also after NC2, NC1 won't be sold.

And they do have them. I ordered two copies before KK decided to be tight-lipped about item transfer to NC2. Shipping's $5.99, but it's a flat $5.99 for up to three games, so if you order a copy of NC with something you really wanted, it works out well.
