Well, I am going to a computer show down in the Bronx, which is in NYC, hopefully going to buy a cheap mother board as everything is damn cheap ass hell down here when comuter shows come..

Debating between a P4 Board and AMD, My m8 says if I want a p4 it is mainly used to run a bunch of programs and that AMD is made to run games better, anyone have any suggestions?

Also, why do AMD Boards got like 3200+ and 1900+ when their base processor speed is 2.4? Dose your games run faster with a AMD or P4? :confused: :confused:

Also, I'll be wearing a shirt thats says "Restraining Orders are just another way of saying I love you", so if you gonna be there, just ask for TheJester, sex!!! :))

IMHO best platform to go for right now is amd athlon XP. Get cool Nforce2 mobo, like Abit NF7-S or DFI lanparty, DDR400 ram and as fast proc as you have money left. ( I'd buy a 333 FSB proc and overclock it to FSB 400, but of course it's much easier to just buy a FSB400 one : D)

Athlons are named with so called "processor(pentium) rating", because athlon 1.6 runs about as fast as pentium 2.0, that's why that athlon is called "2.0"

nah, it's not the right time to get ath64 yet, amd is perfecting new Socket939: new procs will be kitted with internal dualchannel memory controller and mobos will need only 4 layers, not 6 as old Socket940= everything much faster and bit cheaper.

Give them some time to perfect technology and then go for it. It's too early yet.

?? you can easily get 80% or even more of power of very top 64s and p4s extreme. For fraction of cost.
